Sharks don't necessarily prefer yellow in particular, but a number of shark species are attracted to any high-contrast color, such as yellow, orange, or red. Nhamm nhamm Dress on those red rescue suits and red helmet, some species will single you out from a group of divers at a shallow dive since that most colors will turn black at a dive of 30 meters.

I never dive wetsuits, my first course after OWD was drysuit, after OWD i never dived with wetsuit again. Wetsuits stink and because of that fact i hate them.

I'm lucky, I can hold 2 hours in 59 degrees "15 to 14 degrees celsius" without a wetsuit or semi dry or even dry suit, I hate any kind of suit while diving, I only use a 3 mm wetsuit when I'm diving Wrecks to avoid open wounds on rusted surfaces, it is all about the liberty of diving without a suit gives to you, the drawback is lack of buoyancy. My setup for a 3 mm wetsuit a BCD and a standard 12 liter tank is 8 kg of led, without the 3 mm wetsuit is just 3 kg's of led, if I use my 15 liter steel tank "19 kg" I only use 2 kg of led without a wetsuit, dived with an heavy 18 liter tank once, was about 21 kgs, for that, no led, unfortunately 18 liter or 20 liter steel tanks are to cumbersome to dive with and is not a peaceful dive, you can roll over with ease.

@@divewithlaura I use "cheat codes" it's about the lack of a protein, resulted from lack of genetic evolution ACTN3, I will copy paste a study that was done with people with this condition, which is, deficiency with ACTN3 protein, most people don't have this deficiency "Approximately 1.5 billion people worldwide carry the ACTN3 LOF variant and therefore lack α-actinin-3. Although deficiency in this protein is not associated with muscle disease, it impairs performance during power and sprint activities. Because the LOF variant became more abundant as humans moved to colder climates, Westerblad and co-senior study author Marius Brazaitis of Lithuanian Sports University suspected that it might play a role in improving cold tolerance. To test this idea, the researchers immersed 42 healthy 18- to 40-year-old male adults with either the LOF variant or functioning ACTN3 in 14 °C water for 20-minute periods, interspersed by 10-minute pauses in room-temperature air. Cold-water exposure was continued until the rectal temperature reached 35.5 °C, or for a total of 120 min (170 min including the pauses). While 69% of subjects with the LOF variant were able to maintain their body temperature above 35.5 °C for the complete cold-water exposure, only 30% of participants with functioning ACTN3 were able to do so. On average, loss of α-actinin-3 resulted in half the rate of temperature decline in the rectum and on the calf muscle." So I loose half the rate of temperature, while immersed in cold water, compared to a person that has this protein, hence, I can be submerged in cold water for a lot longer, without going down on my core body temperature. But I did some tests on water as cold as 12 degrees celsius, and it was quite harder to mantain resilience, so the minimum acceptable temperature to function properly would be 14 degrees celsius. Take in consideration, that my SAC goes out of charts with low temperatures and no wetsuit, the colder it gets it has implications on my breathing, cause my heart accelerates to mantain core body temperature, but with training and exposure to many dives without wetsuit, you become more and more resilient to cold water, I believe any human is able to "train" and be resistant to cold with constant exposure.

I also use a dry suit on certain kinds of dives in order to be protected from contamination in the water. Work diving sometimes requires diving in water that is contaminated with chemical or biological materials. Wetsuits don't protect me from such things, but a good drysuit does the job.
