For my 1000th video post on this 12 year old channel I went with Nancy Sinatra because anytime she was on TV in the 60s,I loved watching her perform.I would have been 8 when this came on our TV in Moose Jaw in 1967.Most 2 song sets on Ed Sullivan had a time limit between 5:30 to 5:45 long meaning that normally 1 song would have to be shortened. It was usually the older song that was shortened w ...

That was a little mean-spirited for Ol' Red ...
I loved it.That was just Red tryong yo be funny. That was a pretty good laugh.I saw this episode when it came on in 1964.I was 5.I also remember the Beatles debut on Sullivan in 1964.Exciting times growing up in Moose Jaw w great music.👍🇨🇦
❤
Thanks for posting this… just sitting here reminiscing about Buck Owens😢
Lord can that lady sing
I love his Silk Shirt! I wish I had a shirt exactly like that!
I was born in the late fall of 1978. Booby Sherman is handsome and very talented! Easy Come, Easy Go! Julie, Do You Love Me, Make Your Own Kind of Music are classic, fantastic songs! Excellent Stereo Mixed Video! The Dancers are very talented and very pretty! Makes Me Want to Dance!
Are people not understanding that this is a sad song? He is "not gonna be the one" to share her dreams. It's a pretty song, but it's sad.
🙋♀️🫶whoop whoop 🙌 ❤️😘
I'll be 75 in a month, and I agree with @bobn.5173...life was good back then...the TV shows were still in their infancy and "clean comedy" shows were so popular. Dad had a full-time job, mom was the homemaker and there every day when my brother and I ot home from school. We grew up well taken care of, and love and respect were the name of the game for parents and grandparents. So happy I grew up back then (born in 1949).
I had no idea they were from Canada!
Love this track.
I love the gritty, straight-out-of-a-bar-somewhere-in-Pittsburgh sound!
He can put my fire out anytime
Beautiful song ❤
Gut gespielt. Sicher nicht einfach.
Coole Musik. Wenn man so einen Mann heiraten will, muss man mit allem rechnen.
great video
Excellent mix. Johnny Burnette was a very good vocalist. This song was a big hit in the UK, too, peaking at no. 3 in January 1961.
Thank you...these older clips w muddy audio tracks are always a challenge to get good high quality from.👍🇨🇦
In later years his son had a big hit too
I MISS GROUPS WHO NOT ONLY SANG GREAT BUT WERE ENTERTAINING AS WELL
GREAT SONG
This is one of the earliest Jagger-Richards compositions. Yes, John Lennon gave them the song I Wanna Be Your Man but Mick and Keith showed they could do it on their own terms.
My two favorite songs from Gary Puckett & Union Gap. 😍🎸🥁🎹🎼💎
No obese kids in the audience!
Do they have anymore rare clips of the chantels featuring annette Smith singing lead
Ha, real talent and singing....
Why have I never heard this song?
I remember in 1864 when we got this record.I was 5.Became a Stones fan at that point.🇨🇦
Gary loved him some Johnny Mathis.
It seems you could perform and entertain if you were so-called black...but ya couldn't be a member of the audience. Fascinating...
I doubt that was the case but I since I saw the odd one in the audience in that small studio, but if you watch some of the early Bandstands, blacks were amongst the dancers. They were in California so I don't think skin colour was a big issue like the deep southern states.Correct me if you think I'm wrong please.🇨🇦
I loved the Chantels since 1958 as a youngun!
Goosebumps🎉🎉 Fabulous vocals ❤
Absolutely brilliant
This is by far my favourite Bob Dylan song along w Lay Lady Lay...👍🇨🇦
Susan a closed Elvis friend
No ridiculous twirking, or tits hanging out, no raunchiness. Just beautiful true music ❤
The ultimate slow dance song from a great year, 1958, and sung by one of the early pioneers of the American "girl groups". With the immensely talented Arlene Smith at lead.
When music was great
Where is Mick's micro?
Haha...don't need any when you are lip syncing.Did you ever see anyone miked up on Bandstand or many other shows? Skelton's guests usually performed live (Sherry by 4 Seasons being an exception),but w this being on location,it would have been too time consuming and labour intensive to mic up everything.I worked in TV 40 years,I know.🇨🇦
Mick doesn't change! 💗
1968 I was in my last year at school (16) and met a lovely girl at a dance. Unknown to me at the time she was 13 years old but very well developed for such a young lady. We dated a few times. When I found out her age this song Young Girl was out and I ribbed her. We did not last but at the age of 72 I look back and consider 3 years difference nothing now. Often wonder what happened to her.
1978...I was 19,met a gorgeous 'blessed' beautiful redhead.Said she was 18.. after I found out her real age,...well let's just say...went our separate ways w no problems...thank goodness
So cool!
I was 13 when I saw you sing this live on stage at Suffolk Downs opening for none other than, The Beatles! 😊
Hermoso tema... saludos desde Lima Perú

Long live classic country music!!
☀️🌟💟🎉💯
Excellent stereo mix. 'Sorry Suzanne' was their first hit featuring Terry Sylvester.
Yes,I believe Nash left on 1968 to start up C,S,N & Y.🇨🇦
This song is still a hit
Great song. Pity it is a lip synch.... what I liked about Ed Sullivan is the bands were live. But ya gotta take what you can get. I used to stay up til 2 am to hear this on radio (only one DJ would play it.... Stones weren't all that popular til Satisfaction)
Ummm I have 3 hours of pop/rock performances fr Sullivan. Many were lip synced like Tommy James' appearance for both songs,Mony Mony & Crimson & Clover in 1969.There are lots more.Every program had lip syncers some time or another.🇨🇦
@@KellysClassics Okay, groups with talent played live. Long Crimson & Clover is the worst solo bar none. I've thought that since I first heard it. Suicide material
Jerry Lee Lewis was one who always insisted on performing live. There were others but you are right w what you said.
Arlene Smith. One of the most underrated and generally unknown female singers of all time.
This is a beautiful song 🎵 Mick and the boys are showing a quality that they can cover any song 🎵 ❤️ and make it sound amazing 🎉🎉. The beginning of the stone's 62yrs of rock and roll. That was a glimpse of what was to come🎉🎉
