I could never stay interested enough in battle for bikini bottom to beat it as a kid, this game however kept me all the way until the end.

My brother and I played the hell out of this game. I always preferred it over battle of bikini bottom but it was mainly because this was the one I played before hand. Other than that watching you trying to play all the goofy goober challenges brought back some memories, because I remember how hard they were lmao.

My little brother and I loved this game as kids. Spent so long playing it. We did finish it eventually but it took forever. It's validating to know that the 2nd half of the game is actually hard and not just that we were bad at games lol. I remember my brother and I having a breakdown every time Mindy asked for more goofy goober tokens lmao
I LOVE this game, but I will say, playing through this game without knowing how to upgrade your powerups will make this a miserable experience, lol. As a kid, the 2 levels that stumped me were the level where Patrick learns to throw stuff (since the last section barely has anything to throw other than the enemies), and the level where Spongebob learns to play the guitar because of that stupid laser enemy which now shoots missiles (I still despise that enemy to this day). I will say most of the side challenges are really fun, and the ring challenges were pretty easy for me, until you get to the final guitar ring challenge, and yeah that one is insufferable. I beat it one time, and then took a long break from the game afterwards, lol. The difficulty spike will come out of nowhere, but because of nostalgia and the movie itself being goated, still is one of my favorite games from my childhood.
Was this game really all that hard? I remember beating it when I was seven without much issue. I loved it so much that I immediately played it again on a new game.

I grew up with the game, and I can say it's still a banger. I still remember the OST clearly, and it always gives me A LOT of nostalgia.
You're the first person I heard praise this game over BFBB. I definitely played this one more and in the end enjoyed it more. This brought back a ton of memories, I might have to play it again 🤔

Seeing this video brought me back so much. The music in the beginning alone was enough to bring me back to my childhood...I played this game to death while I was 6 to 9. I feel your pain on the ring challenges, I hated them so much but well if you wanted to finish the game, you had to xD The final boss also kicked my ass so hard and some of the spongeball side missions were so unbelievably frustrating, it wonders me a little you did not mention them in the video. But I really need to replay this game - reliving the part of my childhood that made me normalize trying several dozen times to beat a boss :D

This game is one of my favorites. I actually used to speed run it way back. This winter I did a challenge run to avoid any upgrades, and while it doesn't sound like much, it was a very hard challenge that felt oh so good to complete. You can in fact get all tokens like that, you just need to glitch for the last couple.
I've played this game, but it came out while I was in high school. But the funny thing is I played this game when I was sick. Me and my family got the flu in 2004 and had to stay home sick for a week. During that week, I decided to play this new game I recently got from Game Stop which was based on the movie I recently watched in theaters before getting sick. And I spent my entire week off from school while I was sic from the flu playing the Spongebob Movie game. Took me all week to finish too. But I liked it as much as Battle for Bikini Bottom.
