A few blocks to the west, there was a completely Muslim quarter. Not my style either. Another few blocks further you got to a quarter with extreme luxury shops. At Wat Sraket, the person whom I assumed a monk, was speaking Dhamma :) It is normal in Thailand that Mantra or Dhamma is teaching through the speakers at the temple if you hear serene voice, not the loud one. Wat Sraket is 159 years but well preserved as it is one of the important temples. The 1st market you visited is mainly for buying stuff to offer at the shine next to it, which is a famous shrine named "Tiger God shrine" (not recommend this market, people can buy things directly from the shrine at fair price.) The second market is Pak Khlong Talat (Flower Market, mainly wholesale). Not sure if you would come to Bangkok again, but if you do so, I would recommend visiting Siam Square-Ratchaprasong area which is downtown Bangkok. There you can see the contrast between modern shopping malls next to a beautiful&peaceful temple (Wat Pratum Wanaram www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g293916-d3646467-Reviews-Wat_Pathum_Wanaram-Bangkok.html) next to it, where locals go to make merits and meditate and there is no entrance fee for foreigners.

nothing to do with Russians. I was there before Russians were there in 1999 and I didn't enjoy the locals. 2 times I was there I came across people trying to scam me and not very friendly. I think maybe this is due to Nha Trang being a tourist destination for a long time both for locals and abroad. This has perhaps made the locals very detached from visitors and see them as short term means of making money only.

You missed the point of your visit to Subotica. It should have been a celebración of a particular Serbian characteristic - they love the OTHERNESS. Quite the opposite of political Western propaganda against the Serbs. When you go to the south of the country, antípoda of Subotica is the town of Novi Pazar, with Moslim Bosniak majority. 30% Serbs, the rest are Bosnian Muslims. How come, haven't they exterminated them? No dear buddy. Serbs are famous to not like to be alone. Only Istria in Croatia has a similar mentality. They don't mind OTHERNESS. When your mindset is EUrocentric and your spirit weak, you will attract scheisse. You will come to a huge square and go directly to a small dry plant. Seems like a German small town clerk person goes to inspect former empire (nobody pays him,he is on his down mission) and looks for cracks in chuches, run down buildings, dry plants and "exotic" letters. What is this doing here? AHA,it's only 30% Serbian .They stole it from us,the K&K Empire. What this clerk failed to discover and lean from his visit to Subotica is that out of entire former Empire, Austro-Hungarian, only Serbia, as one of it's descendants has preserved ethnic structure, similar to pre WW1, at least a legacy of it's former incredible cultural diversity. Timisoara is heavily Romanianized - there are only traces of it's former cultural and ethnic diversity. Imagine that -little Subotica is the only city in former K&K Empire that has preserved at least a honorable legacy of ethnic diversity this Empire was proud off . If you go to Hungary - same story like in Romania, it has lost the minorities, because they don't like the otherness. Serbians don't like to be alone and are historically quite fond of Hungarians (and Romanians). Unfortunaely, missing are Jews, exterminated by 3RD Reich and Horty's Hungary. Missing are ethnic Germans, expele after the fall of 3RD Reich. The clerk should stay home because his travelling is very risky of self toxication by negative thoughts. I can imagine what he thinks of immigrants from Middle East that reshape forever ethnic fabric in his own country. Hence thefrustración, I suppose.,

Next time I might focus more on the North. This time, my main goal was to get a better understanding of the culture. I also wanted to escape winter.

you look like you were in the the Japanese quarter of Saigon- very rowdy. I moved to Saigon 3 years ago... It's amazing here- couldn't see myself ling in another country. People so nice, friendly. Countryside beautiful and food amazing!! Plus it's so cheap with wonderful opportunities

The place where I start the video is not the Japanese Quarter in District 1 but the region around Pham Viet Chamh which seems to be quite hip among expats. Aside from that you are right. I am back in Europe for 4 weeks now and really miss Vietnam. But Europe has its great places too.

I had to delete all the comments of this video. This is something I never ever wanted to do. But all comments are political and seem to contain keyworts that probably are considered toxic by the CZcams algorithm. Otherwise I can't explain why the video got 1490 views in the first 24 hours and only 4 views in the four weeks since then. Don't judge a country by its political leader. I say this in the video and said it many times before.

@@frankexplores4794 it's good to hear!! Lot's of bloggers told ugly stories about Nha Trang in connection to safety issues. It's nice to see that it is not on every corner and it is actually safe

Right, this is my personal opinion but at least it is based on my personal impressions and experiences, not just on what I read somewhere or what somebody told me. Some people seem to like it, you don’t. Fine.

Hahaha they charge extra to sit on the throne? Hilarious. Nothing to see here. Just another country exploiting its history and heritage for tourist dollars. Typical tourist trap.

I bet it is 99% Vietnamese tourists who do this. So rather Dong than Dollars.
