Who was the stunt driver for Roy Sheider? I find it hard to believe he did all the driving himself.

There are some things that came up to me watching the film. The German made Opel Kadett, at 2.41 is further on also used as a banger at 5.03, but now in an orange colour, and opening the left door. At 5.38 there is an overall view on the road with the harbour on the backround. Left, on the side of the pavement, just for the vertical cranes, just behind a white passing by stationwagon, there is the cameracrew for the next scene, were the black car will be going in the corner, coming at the camera: At 5.38 you can also see the policecar from behind, just going into the corner. the black car already passed by. The next scene, at 5.44, the white stationwagon, just mentioned, is just passing by in front of the camera on the pavement,. And then the policecar is coming and passing by as well, to go after the criminals. All this saves time bacause it is taken in one shot. The banger Opel is just for saving money. Twice used in one film.

Man, i forgot just how clumsy those fat old US cars were. IMO two of the best chase scenes were from "The French Connection" and "To Live And Die In LA" ..... both Friedkin films.

Oh wow, same bad guy is driving in this car chase as was driving the black charger in Bullit. What makes these car chases so good is they are filmed in real time, and not in slow careful time and then sped up in editing, the other cars around are the giveaway. You can't beat these chases.

Pro driver in the Granville looks like the same situation Charger driver from Bullit.

My nephew seen something similar years ago to the ending of this scene where Roy Scheiders car went under the tailgate of the truck. It was a driver that was on their cell phone in one hand and a map in the other. Only the head and top part of the torso were missing. But the rest was still intact i. e. her cell phone and map. This was before gps.

Not many cars on the streets of NY in this episode....fun movie.

So they just took all the sounds from Bullitt. Got it. (And a lot of the shots.) no disrespect to the stunt driver (same guy).

This is a great sequence that shows three important things: 1) In an urban car chase, the most important elements are the driver's decisions, the unpredictable obstacles, and the vehicle's suspension. Horsepower is way down the list, below brakes. 2) In the 1970s, Detroit insisted on making a lot of really, really, really ugly cars. 3) The Spazzed & Spurious series is less realistic than the Lord of the Rings.

What kind of a woman driver uses the horn?

Car chase scenes in the 70s was real driving. A lot of editing perhaps, but the driving was real. For the past 30 years, CGI is the trick. No comparison.
