O Magnify the Lord With Me (George Lynn)
Adam, I am so grateful that you shared recordings from Princeton High School, especially "my" era (like this one).
Stand up, folks!
My favorite hymn in the whole world! Even if that is only because of _Davey & Goliath_ .
The Little Rascals brought me here!
He looks like the old guy from Amen
She was a terrible singer.
Not at all true. Shame on you.
@@rah62 Who are you? Who do you want to be? You have the brain of the last raisin in the box. This is a review by Paul Hume of the Washington Post on the alleged singer: "Miss Truman is a unique American phenomenon with a pleasant voice of little size and fair quality - (she) cannot sing very well - is flat a good deal of the time-more last night than at any time we have heard her in past years - has not improved in the years we have heard her - (and) still cannot sing with anything approaching professional finish." Other critics agreed. You know nothing about singing or music in general. Get lost, Karen.
Rizzinomics
We sang this arrangement at my high school in 1975 (and years before that...and years after that... for all I know they still sing it!) Anyway, the joke in the choir was that you had to sing the Wilhousky arrangement of Battle Hymn as a graduation requirement!!
Beautiful
Love it! Amazing job by all. Wonderful hearing my Westminster peeps.
Por favor traducir al español. Es bello pero sería mejor en español
Magnificent! 🙏🏼 Thank you! 🙏🏼😊
The GOLD Standard!
Just heavenly
Thank you from a ‘76 WCC alumnus!
Celebratate até Jesus
1 I know not how that Bethl'hem's babe could in the Godhead be; I only know the manger child has brought God's life to me. 2 I know not how that Calvary's cross a world from sin could free; I only know its matchless love has brought God's love to me. 3 I know not how that Joseph's tomb could solve death's mystery; I only know a living Christ, our immortality.
He came to my high school 1975 wonderful experience Brent Marcum
Wonderful
Love it. The recording is the 1980 choir. What year is the picture?
This recording is actually from the Spoleto Festival in Charleston in 2002.
I see. f@@adamphillips84 I see. Flum's choir all have the Flum sound
Beautiful!
this hymn was written on Tyneside, very much a mining community. As Charles looked up the Tyne valley at evening tide, he looked upon the fires that burned among the mining communities and his prayer for these mining people he was soon to preach the gospel to, would catch the flame of God's grace and salvation, which many did of course. Most villages in the area began to worship the Lord and sing his praise. May the word swiftly run again and be mighty to prevail in these hideously sinful days.
The truth needs a hearing again if we are to realize the manifest blessing of God upon our witness. It may not be palatable for this wicked and perverse generation, but we will be the loser if you continue to marginalize it.
My parents are singing on this recording! I can see my dad on the album cover. Wow.
Prachtig. Het eerste nummer voor de uitvaart van mijn vader😢
I love this entire album. My parents bought this for me at Texas Southern University when William Dawson was invited there by Gloria Duke, music teacher in HISD, Ryan Jr. High. She had been one of his students (1936-40) along with my Dad and Mom, 1934-39 at Tuskegee Institute. HISD had gotten 4 students from each Black Junior High School to sing under Dawson’s direction. The auditorium was full!! He was a great, smart, talented and kind gentleman. ❤
This was in Spring 1964.
Melanie Mollo is the golden soprano.
Shimmering beauty, as another person wrote. This soprano has an exquisite voice, and the choir has a warm but not overwhelming part. Beautiful.
The Best agree !
I’m in this choir😊
I think I saw this years ago at the Museum of Television and Radio, now the Paley Center for Media.
Please allow me to hopefully recharge this conversation....
I always come back to listen to this version. This is the definitive version. 👍
This is by far the best performance of this I have ever heard recorded. Beautiful!
49:12
You should have the words for this magnificent piece of music. Post the lyrics, please. I mean it scares the church mice out of the church, the people needs to know what is being said.
What a beautiful performance of this. One of my favorite anthems, perfectly sung.
I was in Social Studies and the teacher played the song and the whole class had to come up with 7 words in the song and every time the word wasn't in the song we had to listen to it again. We took over half the class period doing it.
Soloist Ronald Coleman, conducted Dr. Simpson
and you sounded just great!
Thankyou so much!
That man was a blessing on earth. I know what he went through... he turned the negative into the positive.... and he led so many to Christ.
I was surprised that this is the original, I always heard the Boney M. version.
Beautiful!
Well done, Adam!
Lovely. Thank you.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ace!
Weeping at this rendition of I Wonder As I Wander! Even though I knew no one in this class, it just took me back to my days of beautiful music made. Love this recording and thanks Adam for posting it here!
All Praise is Due to Allah 👑🖤💫🙏🏾☪️
