A Toolmaker's vice with an internal threaded insert is held captive between two brass thrust washers and the handle. Turning the handle moves the vice jaw without rotating the threaded shaft.

A simple self cantered chuck / wedge clamping mechanism. The screw actuates one jaw that moves the other two jaws via a wedge action. The centre aperture can be used for work holding.

Simple Collet Mechanism

Turning the screw drives the key upwards. Used in jigs and fixtures for component location or clamping.

The screw moves the nut. The nut is connected to the key by a cylindrical link. The key has a degree of movement in the keyway. The mechanism allows for a rotated shaft to produce precise angular motion.

The screw turns moving the sliding jaw with it. Typically used in jigs and fixtures.

Nut captivated between two thrust bearings moves the whole assembly laterally. Central adjustment shaft has a portion of left hand and right hand threads to move the individual rollers independently.

Captivated screw translates the nut along its axis of rotation.
