Could you recommend a good non-reverse osmosis filter? I bought one from Bluevua but returned it when I discovered it removes all the important minerals from the water. I have a baby, and I'm concerned about giving her mineral-free water due to unknown long-term effects. Even with an option to remineralize, I don't believe it's as efficient.

I took a toxic metal test and it showed I have 6 or 7 different metals at toxic levels. No idea why but perhaps some of it from the tap water, hard to say. One weird one was beryllium. Have to detox metals with various means like cilantro, mushrooms, diatomaceous earth, selenium, sulfur, activated charcoal and liver support.

When I was young we could drink water right from the creek from mountain springs, in Virginia, North Carolina, and New Mexico. Now we can't even drink it from the tap in our own homes. What a sad, sad world. Good luck, kids.

Any idea how dangerous it is to drink soft water (w/o enough Ca and Mg)? These water softener "filters" are perfect for your washing machine, but drinking that water can get you sick or even dead. As for drinking, simply recommend a carbon filter which filters only the water you're going to drink/cook with.

I worked Water and Waste water over 20 years whats in our pipes after treatment from asbestos to Lead and cancerous cast iron pipes is more than disgusting.

Instead of sending billions upon billions of taxpayer dollars to disappear and/or be burned up uselessly in Ukraine and other areas around the world, that money _could_ have been reinvested into the United States and her crumbling infrastructure. It _could_ have been used to fix water and sewage networks; to repair roads, bridges, and railroads; to build and staff more localized meat processing facilities (since Covid proved our foot distribution network is incredibly fragile); etc. And it could have been used to cover the initial cost of installing that otherwise prohibitively expensive ultraviolet light equipment for water treatment to avoid further use of chemicals. But, no. As per usual, our government does what it does best: It ignores the wants and needs of American citizens and sends our money literally anywhere and everywhere else around the world (including their own pockets) except where it belongs-here.

What percent of household filters contain plastics? (Probably all of them...)

I can see getting rid of lead, however the body does require zinc and copper, 11mg and 1mg/day respectively. so does it make sense to eliminate copper and zinc? There is no way you will get 11mg of zinc and 1mg of copper from drinking water.

The Zero water filtration pitcher system worked for me. Been using for 1.5 years now and it made a huge difference in my overall health.

Fluoride does nothing for teeth but does a job on the rest you.

You state about all the contaminates, but mention nothing about the effectiveness of the filters. If it were so easy, why don't the municipalities filter the water for chemicals such as PFAS at their facilities? Do filters remove PFAS?

I live in Milwaukee. We have some of the cleanest water in the country. Studies have shown that our water is as clean or cleaner than most bottled water.

How about a hack to address Zero's tendency to ADD microplastics to the filtered water? I read about this from subscribing to Consumer Lab's research. I cancelled that when they gave a filter a 'PASS' when it left over 80% of Arsenic in the filtered water.

I recently purchased a Berkey water filter but am wondering now after watching some of your videos if that was the right choice. Do you personally have a favorite filter? I was between the Berkey and Clearly Water filter but chose the Berkey since I don't need the plastic pitcher for it and because it is cheaper in the long run. What are your thoughts about that? I am not a fan of filtering out minerals from drinking water. I deliberately drink hard water because of the minerals. If you filter out the essential minerals from drinking water, you have to make sure you add minerals back into your diet again. I have no problems with using a carbon filter to filter out organic contaminants or UV to kill off bacteria.

You don’t share any hard numbers about PFAS. The EPA is thinking about a maximum contaminant level for PFAS at 4 parts per TRILLION. That’s a very low amount. Meanwhile, common carcinogens like benzene and tetrachloroethylene have EPA levels of 5 parts per billion, and 4 parts per billion respectively, an order of magnitude more. What I am saying is you couldn’t filter PFAS out even if you wanted to with most filters out there.

Buddy.... no. Just no. Listen, this is 2024. The World-Script has pretty well played itself out. It's not 1950, not 1980, not even 2000. There is no reason you cannot simply and plainly and directly and outright state, that fluoride is bad. It was known before it was added. It was always known. Why would you dose the water with something that only acts topically? Like, duh. Because you want to make it inescapable and its intended use is to act internally, which just damages you. That's it. Stop beating around the bush. Just say it. A bunch of people with prestigious titles got together after WW2 and systematically poisoned an entire several nation's water supplies. That was the outcome of their activities, and that was probably the intent.

What about corrosion? I am seeing many complain about rust or corrosion over time with softeners.

I bought a water tester from Amazon. Our tap water was really bad. I then bought a water distiller and that worked well. Bottled water both purified and distilled were also fine. FYI.

Much of California was mandated to use recycled sewage, by Gavin Newsom who erroneously believed that our drought (which ended) was permanent due to Climate Change. Now, even after the drought ended, we are still using recycled water, from sewage. So if you come to visit us, have a glass of water, and know that there is a little bit of all of us in there!

Natural Fluoride is great. The toxic waste Fluoride in water and toothpaste are extremely bad. Toothpaste grinds the enamel off teeth. Tap water weakens the bones, and turns teeth brown. It also irritates ppl's insides. Shorten your lifespan, that's cool.

Here in the uk the water is saturated with limestone. The kettles get a white crust. I filter the water and this reduces the limescale. The boiling hopefully kills the estrogen and other shit
