So here’s a little recap of the brackets I made. It was my first project welding project usually I get my friends to make it look pretty for me but, I want to start learning so this in my thoughts was the perfect project because no one will see ...

Did you chop off some of the Back trailgear bumper?
@@MonkeyBrainSushi yes I cut off the “loop” portion of the bumper. I kept getting hung up on it.
by chance do you remember what you set the front pinion angle at?
Not exactly sure the number. I do remember I put a 4* shim to gain some caster.
@@crawldad7564 thank you sir
things sweet af
Looking good big guy
awesome truck nice👍
Double sweaters rears 😂🤣
The dream 4runner build for my 1987 project!
I want to see an update on the 86 4runner!
Wow, it looks so cool, one day i hope to build something exactly like that.
Hi there how or were do you wire the clutch switch to start the car
Dude How this running now
Mine fit perfect on my 88’ runner with a 1” body lift 🤷🏻♂️
do you have any leads or places i can buy a front axle like yours
Yes a buddy of mine has one for sale. Email me and I’ll get you with him Rc51shane@gmail.com
Hello, nice rig, I really like it. I’m installing the dual case shortly, however, I need the rear drive shaft shorten, I see you got yours done, would you be able to let me know who made them? I can cut and weld, however, that needs to be exact and precise, I don’t want any shaking when driving. Thank you.. love the trick!
Thanks man I appreciate it. I had my rear drive made by P. E. M. Out of Missouri. I used a front and had them lengthen it. www.shoppemracing.com/Default.asp
Thank you much, I’ll check them out. Do you think by now having Toyotas installing dual cases, they already have some ideas of what size I might need?
This things a monster I got one done up with the ifs redone in 4.88 and old man emus coil and shock setup but this thing is bad
Thank you! Appreciate it.
Wish I had the knowledge to fix my truck like this.
You can do it man. This is a really basic setup that has been done many times. Most of the builder parts are just off the shelf. It makes it really easy to come out with a nice end result. The hardest part is just finding the time to be in the shop. Just go for it man!
Straight to the point. No unnecessary jibber-jabber!
You must watch the Taylor Ray videos lol. Jibber jabber. This was my first video I have ever made. It’s hard to remember what to say.
I had one just like that .I put 12inch lift for a chevy .and one tons with 44 inch super swampers.and put a 355 in with a th350 trans and a 205 tcase
No one cares what rig anyone uses to have. Post a video of it was so great. Weak flex bro.
How much money do you think you’ve spent so far ? I’m planning on doing 1tons on my truck and trying to figure out a budget
there is a lot of variables but I have about $7000 in the build. That’s axles, tires, and transfers cases included. If you’re just swapping axles I would say around $2500. But you also have to remember steering linkages (high steer), gears, diff covers, pinion flanges, brake lines. All the little stuff that you don’t think about at first adds up quick. I bought most the stuff at one time on Black Friday that saved huge.
Will you be hitting the shocks in the rear when articulating?
Actually yes the tire is going to hit where they are right now. I have to move them inboard more. I didn’t have a way to flex it out when we built it so we’re just kinda guessed. Now that I have a forklift we can get it dialed.
Did some testing and with some minor trimming the shocks are going to work in the rear. Just barley but it’s going to be fine.
@@crawldad7564 you should make a video about it!
Trying to get a different camera situation going hopefully soon.
Went to High school with sky
Good looking rig! What lockers?
Thank you! It’s currently welded front and rear. With Yukon lockouts in the front.
drifting and crawling in missouri? you must be from out of state, lol... i grew up in kc decades ago, currently hating the so cal smog checks 😕what i found with seat height is that it's harder to see when you are crawling while sitting low, and there is a ton of headroom in these old 4runners... did you figure out what's causing the 4wd lockup, what i've been doing is barely popping the driveshaft in reverse to break it free and get it back in 2wd, wish i knew how to fix it... i got dual cases with the tg twin sticks.
Born and raised in Missouri haha. I did live Santa Barbara for a year or so. I finally got the seat where I like it. I’ll be making a video on that soon. I did figure out the t cases video coming for that too. I’m saving for a new camera sorry for the lag time in videos.
spacers on the rims ?
No spacers
Wow double cardigans. Those must be super rare. I've had a few cardans but never a double cardigan. Nice truck! You didn't cheap out! Needs some boost for sure.
Haha yea I’ve already been corrected on that. Thank you sir!
What axles do you have
The front is a Chevy Dana 60 and the rear is a 99 and up aam 14 bolt
@@crawldad7564 thanks
Are those Chevy 63 springs from a 2wd or 4wd chevy
They are from a 4x4 but we added a f150 leaf to the pack
@@crawldad7564 thanks
What size tire are you running?
Those are 40” maxxis creepy crawlers
Subscribed to watch your build. Lookin good 👍
Thanks man I appreciate it I’ll be posting more soon 🤘🏼
Sweet truck 👍 gotta leave that automatic badge on the gate just for jokes.
Thanks! It’s for sure staying on there.
That is cool would love to see it on the trails to see how it travels also looks like the rear wheel arch needs clearancing like the front
Yes I can’t wait to stretch the legs on it. The rear fenders will definitely be cut. I’ll be making a video for that.
Those turned out great!
its called a double cardan. a cardigan is a sweater. looking forward to hearing how the bumps work out. I would expect the tractor PTO shaft is going to give you issues FYI
Thanks for the input. I have multiple front shafts I can modify if it does give me trouble. Stay tuned!
@@crawldad7564 If it does hold up, I'd be curious where you got it, The ones I tried did not hold up.
What a classic man 👍
Thanks man been planning the build for a while.
Did you say you just ran stock Toyota rear leafs in the front
Yes factory rear leafs flipped around and ran up front. Commonly known as a “RUF” (rears up front). I did add a F-150 leaf in front to gain some height for clearance on the Dana 60.
I don’t know the story on your tcase setup, but I had that problem with 2/4wd and it ended up being a bolt that rattled loose on the back cover of the case not allowing the fork to travel, I got frustrated and whacked it pretty hard on the shifter and it blew the a hole in the rear tcase cover... I’d pull it, (just the rear cover, not the whole tcase) either way because it’s really easy to see what’s going on. That shift fork is on the lower right side (looking at it, back to front)
Awesome man thanks for the advice I’ll give it a try.
Great build man i started watching your videos cuz i like crawling
Cool 1st gen. I'd like to see the next video.
Where u got the flange from for front n rear?
I got both front and rear flanges from WFO concepts
How much clearance do you have between the ram and the oil pan? I have the exact same setup and can't figure out a good ram placement.
There’s about 4-5” between the pan and Ram I’ll try and find the mount I used and put a link for you.
@@crawldad7564 That sounds good thanks
