Hehe, as a kid I always avoided MT because I didn't understand when to change gears and thought it would overcomplicate things, etc. Now that I'm learning to drive (at 38!) it might finally be time to learn to take a corner properly in Daytona. :D

I'm largely ignorant of sim and simcade stuff, so I could be talking outta my arse here, but I suspect the distinction between those and arcade racers is overstated anyway. I've been playing Dirt Rally 2.0 lately, and it has a really smart, granular physics engine, but as an experience of driving it's floaty, twitchy nonsense.

@@Klatrymadon just don't try Daytona or arcade game gear use in general in real life or your engine will explode. Using the wrong gears to instigate slides & stuff instead of braking is just too good. Daytona got it perfect at the 1st attempt

Thanks! Dragon's Crown must be a contender, though it'd probably take forever. This took no time at all - unlike your Paul Phoenix strat, with its clear set-up for the OHKO, this one demands no knowledge and will work on the first attempt. :P

Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, before this port was released the Taito Memories version was arguably the best we had. It has one pretty hilarious flaw, though - it runs at a consistent 60fps with no slowdown whatsoever, so it's even harder than the arcade game! G-Darius HD gives you the option to play it that way if you want, but otherwise it emulates the slowdown accurately. :p I've uploaded another video covering the Mu route if you feel like watching that. I'm hoping to get around to uploading 1CC videos for each of the 5 final bosses.

Thanks, mate! It's such a small thing but that missed double counter opportunity at the end makes me want to keep going on this route. My initial plan was to revisit all of the routes and put up some half-decent survival videos for them but I feel pretty locked into this one at the moment. :p

Cheers! Now that it's in the bag, every mistake and slow part is nagging at me (this run contains some really clean sections and some of the worst and slowest boss fights I've had so far, haha). It's making me all the more determined to keep grinding with Ninja!

Thank you, and well done on your 1CC! I haven't seen Icarus' run but he's a great player so it's good to know my strats aren't too suboptimal. :) Yeah, the Benser is a great capture - good damage output and loads of HP, so it usually survives long enough for an alpha beam.

@@Klatrymadon thanks! :) i learned some some stuff from your run too. I liked your positioning in dual horn sequnce wherein the homing "snake laser" didnt split into 3. Will copy that in my next runs. Thanks for sharing your video :)

@@Ishmokin Glad it helped! Yeah, Dual Horn is probably the trickiest boss on this route, and the 3-way homing laser can really cause a lot of trouble if it splits in a bad spot. It's very satisfying to sort of indirectly throw it off the screen!

Oh, definitely - it's one of the best. I'd rather play it than 99% of all other video games, most of the time. Give it a shot! :)

Yeah, get that bendy laser off the screen before it splits into three. Because it never splits in the same place it can always cause more trouble than you expected!
