Who remembers when Gene Simmons told Adam to hide his gayness? He advised Adam ON IDOL to let women still think they had a chance with him or it would hurt his career. The old man was probably right at the time but you cant tell people to get back in the closet in this day & age. Adam was his authentic self from day 1 of the competition- even if it meant risking being cut in an early round.

These kind of shows end up being about the personalities (as it should be, it's reality TV), and there's no doubt that he was absolutely lovely.
