I did my confined space training with mines rescue service for work. Gas meters have saved my skin a few times now. Are you from north staffs originally ? A few abandoned mines on the north staffs coal field.

Fantastic effort guys thank you I always enjoy seeing the arching but that ceiling was a very large cherry on top Perhaps that section should be referred to as The Upside Down Road? I'm not going to tell you that you took a stupid risk (unlike some folk) because you are experienced in mine exploration and know your limits. And you didn't go alone and took the appropriate equipment with you But everyone knows risks are further reduced with hi viz vests

So exciting, im so in awe of you both still being able to document artifacts & explain what you are doing & seeing with the 02 being so low. Peter is a hard man he's flying through those tunnels. Awesome seeing the union flag fown there! You should have took an England flag & planted it at the end of your explore. Great explore guys. Crawling low for that lenght of time can't have been easy. I expect the knowledge you were the first blokes to crawl around in that mine in a very long time made it well worth the effort. 👍

That calcite formations remind me of lard in a chip-pan after its cooled down lol

Another great video 👏👏👏 i find it amazing how much abandoned and unexplored old mine workings there are in the UK and i also wish i knew how many unexplored mines there are in my area of South Wales as the whole are was full of coal, slate mines, quarries etc!

What a brilliant find, it's definitely worth another visit to the Lord Of The Flies. Do you think it's been a lead mine that has joined into a coal mine? I did instantly think at the beginning it looked like a coal mine with how it had been worked following the shallow seam.
