(Haven’t bought the pattern yet so forgive me if you explain there) but it doesn’t look like you added seam allowance when you cut your fabric. Is the seam allowance built into the pattern?

I’ve found a type of plastic sheet that works in this way however it dissolves in cold water. I had some trial and error with it to be honest, and the amount of stitches you have to top stitch is huge so the majority of the fabrics are captured well. But just in case you weren’t familiar with this product I thought I’d drop a wee comment :)
