HOW TO RESTRING ROLL-UP BAMBOO BLINDS
zhlédnutí 268KPřed 3 lety
You can restring old blinds if the cord is damaged - I’ll show you how. Today, I’m sharing an easy method to restring roll-up bamboo blinds. You might wonder why I’m sharing this - but it is a great tip, easy to do and will probably save you the cost of a new blind. Thank you for this video. So easy to follow and helped me fix my blinds 😀 !
thanks for the very precise tutorial.saved me lots of time
Thanks a million DONE
So good and clear, and just the right speed so I could follow along. Thanks!
Blocked half the work with graphics
Thank you SO much - you saved my sanity. Beautifully presented !!
Thank you !!!! I did it 😊🤗
The viewer can’t see the stringing of the cord on the right pulley because the camera is too far away. There are two pulleys, and the viewer can’t see how the cord is strung.
I am sorry you feel that way. So many people find this video very helpful. You can always head over to the full post on the blog, where I have diagrams to help you figure out how to feed the string through the pulleys. I hope it helps.
Thanks a lot. Ur vdeo helped me... After many attempts
Found this video after MUCH frustration. Absolutely top notch: accurate and easy to follow!

Found one of these with the strings all messed up in my GFs new apartment and your video helped me get them back into a functional state. Thank you!
Can you please explain how the end result looks like some parts of it is stoned effect and other random parts of it looks more like it has no texture...in my opinion, it looks like this random pattern adds all the more depth. Oh and also please do confirm if your 2nd coat is also using the stone effect or just paint in a different shade. Looks just like the effect I wish to do on a small wall next to my store. Any suggestion of sealer?
Hi. Thank you for your comment. That is the effect you get with baking soda - some areas might have less texture and others more. It might also be because my paint was runny while it dried, but it was all done with the textured paint. I did not do a full second coat. I just mixed some darker paint into the already textured paint and added depth of colour to some areas. I did not use a sealer for this project. I do, however, think that this method might be more suited for smaller projects, so if the wall you would like to paint is not too big, it could work. Good luck.
I have 6 or 7 blinds to fix. How do YOU determine the length needed? Take all the cord out of a blind and measure first? Many thanks for your super helpful video about fixing the cords. ❤
FYI - I believe I bought these at Home Depot … if that matters.
Thank you for your comment. I do not measure the cord beforehand. If you follow the method in my video, you only need to cut the cord at the end, so determining the length is part of the process. The original cord was too damaged by the sun to take it out as a whole. I had some wasted cord with the first two blinds when I cut it beforehand. So, I used the specific method to minimise wastage and remove the guesswork. I hope it helps!
Extremely useful! Thank you.
Thank you!!!

Thank you soooo much for sharing this <3 you made my day, i was getting crazy trying to figure out how to make this work 🥹
Thanks! I love my cheap matchstick bamboo blinds. Not sure I could even replace them anymore. Your stringing instructions were sooo helpful! BTW, I found something called 'Venetian Blind Cord, 1/8 in Diam, braided cotton over a synthetic core' for 9-cents/ft at my local hardware store. It is great for these old blinds.
Thanks for the tip on the cord! I'm glad I could help!
