Now for Past 1 year I am working in a Cloud Migration project as a Data Engineer. (Python, Jenkins, Oracle, AWS) I want to upskill myself as a Java Full Stack Developer. Bro just one query daemon thread is only to run the thread in background right? Because whether it is daemon or normal thread the main process is not waiting for thread 3 to get completed. Please clarify it because daemon is bit confusing

    • @CodingwithAmanSahni
      @CodingwithAmanSahni Před 27 dny

      The main thread will wait if thread is not daemon. Even if log statement of Main Thread ended is getting printed but the console is running. For example: in below code, "Main thread exit" will be logged but still "Logging server activities" will keep getting logged because thread is not daemon. But if you uncomment "loggerThread.setDaemon(true);", the main thread will exit. That's why daemon threads are used for logging or monitoring purposes. public class DaemonThreadExample { public static void main(String[] args) { // Start the web server startServer(); // Main thread System.out.println("Main thread started"); try { //simulate some work Thread.sleep(5000); System.out.println("Main thread exit"); } catch (InterruptedException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } private static void startServer() { Thread loggerThread = new Thread(() -> { while (true) { // Log server activities System.out.println ("Logging server activities..."); try { // Simulate logging interval Thread.sleep(2000); } catch (InterruptedException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } }); // loggerThread.setDaemon(true); loggerThread.start(); // Start handling incoming requests System.out.println("Server started." + " Ready to handle incoming requests..."); } }

    @Aman The example of Daemon thread is confusing. The "Main Thread ended" will still be printed even if the objThread3 is not set as Daemon. What the difference is that if we set the objThread3 as Daemon, the statement "Thread 3 completed" will not be printed on the console because the main thread will not wait for objThread3 thread to be completed and exit with the message like "Process finished with exit code 0" after the message "Main Thread ended". If we don't set the objThread3 as daemon, the main thread will wait for 2 seconds and let the objThread3 complete before exiting. In that case, you will see all three messages "Thread 3 completed", "Main Thread ended", and "Process finished with exit code 0" on the console.

    Bro I don't know springboot ,but for using thread we have extend thread or use runnable interface ,but you have not used it,and also you have used throws keyword for exception but no throw keyword in code and any try and catch block ,can you please explain?😅

    • @CodingwithAmanSahni
      @CodingwithAmanSahni Před měsícem

      That’s really good questions 😊 Internally spring boot will use threads to run scheduled task that’s why we didn’t used runnable interface because spring boot will do that internally for us. When we add throws InterruptedException to a method signature but don’t include a catch block, we are essentially saying that any code calling that method must handle the InterruptedException itself. This is known as “propagating” the exception. If the exception is not caught within the method, it will be passed up the call stack until it reaches a method that does catch or propagate it. If no method handles it, the exception will ultimately result in the termination of the program.

    • @prathmeshkakde3731
      @prathmeshkakde3731 Před měsícem

      @@CodingwithAmanSahni as interrupted exception is an in-built exception ,the method will catch it if it occurs and if we throws any custom exception then we need to use throw keyword inside the method?
