Shake them BONES! SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE. New trail to us
The kids and I tackled a new trail downhill at Dryer Road Park in Victor, NY. Super fun trail that in all our riding there we have just missed. Don't know how we did that for so long. LOL Kids are progressing so fast. They are going to be ripping faster than Dad soon. HAHAHA.

just rode that saturday, it was so much fun!!! it looks more than slightly intimidating at first but once you do it, you realize it’s one of those silly little inconvenient features that feel good to do
It is a great little feature. Its funny riding it though. In your head you are thinking its going to start tipping waaaay before it actually does. The folks that built it did a fantastic job. :)
She's getting pretty good on that bike. She'll need an upgrade soon. Hahaha
Agreed.
were you guys here today?
No not today. This was from a few days ago actually. Rode at Tryon Park this afternoon
Dude! Is it just the camera angle or did your kid about double in size since last season!?!?
Lol some of it is the camera angle yeah but yeah she is growing like a weed. We moved her seat up a whole bunch this season.
She's really starting to ride well too. I didn't record the whole ride but her and I rode the other night and she was riding like a maniac. Pretty soon she'll be dropping me on the downhills. HAHAHA
har har har har har
Is this some kind of Roscoe?
Yes this is the Trek Roscoe 24. 24 inch size for kids. It's awesome. Annie loves it. czcams.com/video/wjCaBXPIOxQ/video.html
what park is this? i’m in the wny area it looks really fun!
This is Dryer Road Park in Victor, NY. They just put this feature in a couple of weeks ago. It's right near the back by the new trail Rufus which is fantastic fun.
@@eightwheeladventures That’s awesome i’ve definitely gotta check it out, especially being a frequent rider at dryer. rufus happens to be my favorite trail, haven’t ridden it in a while though so i haven’t seen the new feature. i’m already planning to be at dryer this weekend so i gotta go and ride it, thank you
Awesome. Yeah they did a great job with Rufus. Annie was all proud when she "caught air", her words towards the bottom the other night. I didn't see it so can't confirm but it's definitely her favorite as well.
Kako bi bilo da se stave uže gume na roscoe naprimjer 2.4 promjera dali bi se to isplatilo jer planiram ga voziti i na dalje staze naravno šumske i po makadamu . Unaprijed hvala i veliki pozdrav
You could certainly put 2.4in wide tires on it. That would be a great width for that kind of riding.
Thank you 🙋
I bought my M/L size Roscoe 7 in Satin Black Olive a couple of weeks ago. I already ordered some upgraded grips from Ergon and pedals from Crank Brothers Stamp 1 v2. I bike to work and trail ride after work at my local minor bike trail park here in Victoria, Australia. The stocked pedals don't grip my shoes at all and the handlebar grips are kinda small and stiff and constantly numbs my hands. I'm still in debate on upgrading my cockpit to all Burgtec setups of 30mm Riser Bar and 42.5 Stem. What tyres do think matches all-season capability? The weather here is kind of unpredictable as in a day you will experience all the seasons.
Sounds awesome. I just upgraded tires here and went with a maxxis Assegai in the front and a dhr ii in the rear. Seems to be a great combo so far.
Nice. I almost went with your teal frame but got matte black cause it had shimano crank and BB instead of Praxis Cadet on the teal.
Oh nice. I debated which color to get when I bought it as well. Lol
I upgraded my roscoe 7 with new pedals, grips, sadle and new xt brakes. Feels like a dream
Awesome. It's such a great bike platform. It rides so well. 😄
I’m glad I waited until they were on sale. I just picked up the Roscoe 9 for $1800. It was $1999.99 and they stacked my military discount on top so it was only $1799.99 which was a steal considering the spec
awesome deal. The Roscoes are really great bikes. I love my 7 and Jack really enjoys his last gen 6. They are just solid.
What a fun way to hang out. Thanks guys. Enjoyed some of the perspective.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Got a 2019 7, is there any significant difference vs the newer ones? Ive got a lot of upgrades tho
Well the newer 7 is a 29er with slightly newer frame geometry, 12 speed Deore versus 10. The rest stock looks similar to the 2019. A brand new 2024 Roscoe 6 is now in my opinion a great buy as they updated the frame to be the same as the 7.
since i’ve gotten my roscoe i’ve upgrade… fork, pedals, wheels set, whole cockpit, seat, drivetrain, 2 sets of tires, and probably more that i’ve forgotten
So you have a new bike with an amazing frame. Hahaha. 😄 Awesome.
Koje kotače ste nadogradili na svog roscoe ? Jeste li širinu mjenjali ili samo marku guma
I just changed the tire brand. Went with a Maxxis Assegai in the front and a Maxxis DHR II in the back. I believe the Assegai is a 2.4 and the DHR is also the same. I believe the stock tires were 2.6s.
@@eightwheeladventures u planu mi je da kupim Roscoe 8 i da stavim uže kotače 2.4. tako da sam malo brži . Puno vam hvala na savjetu 🙋🇦🇹
I got the Trek Roscoe 6 2024 which has the same frame as the Roscoe 7,8,9. It's an amazing bike and I'm loving it. I'm planning to change the peddles and grips too.
Good call. That was a nice upgrade to the 6 this year to give it the same frame as the others. 😄 Ride that thing hard and keep the rubber down. Lol
Is that the Titanic!? Great tips 🤙🏾💯
Yes it is!
Over the past year I've upgraded my '23 R7 as follows: grips to PNW Loam grips XL, pedals to PNW composite, tires to Continental Kryptotal, brakes to Shimano M6120, rotors to RT56, finally the fork to Manitou Mezzer Expert at 150mm.
Awesome. Sounds like good upgrades for sure. Hope you are enjoying yours as much as I am mine. I think my oldest child is waiting for me to make the jump to a FS so he can have the hand me down. Lol
All groups should get the cannon start next year. Hahaha😂😂
Just bought roscoe 9 yesterday. Only 500e more than 7
Awesome. Had that been the price difference when I bought mine I would've probably done the same. Great bike choice. 😄
Tinkle, tinkle, tinkle lol please more cow bell.
More cow bell!,!
Hi Chris and Gigi, I have had the best time watching you race. Congratulations! Aunt Kim loves you all!
Aww thanks for hanging out with us. It really is a blast.
I've got a 22 roscoe 7 and a farley 7 they both have the honeycomb grips that come out on them I like those better then any other grips I've had
It does ultimately come down to personal preference. They felt really cheap to us and hard on the hands hence the upgrade. Lol
I just turned 68 I'm not a very aggressive rider
That's awesome that you are out there though. It's so fun getting out to ride just in general. The whole family loves it here, which is where this whole CZcams thing came from.
@eightwheeladventures where did you purchase your 3 upgrades from, about to purchase a 2024 Roscoe 7 in a couple weeks.
@@jeffreyjuneau1959 Grips and pedals were purchased right from PNW. You can also grab them on Amazon. Tires came from JensenUSA. They were on sale when I bought them.
NIce work, keep it up! 🤙
Thanks guys. Appreciate it. Keep having fun out there. 🤪
What bike stand do you use and how do you store them in your garage? I have nothing to really attach the bike to in the garage and people can always take things
We have the Feedback Sports Ultralight Repair stand - www.rei.com/product/749596/feedback-sports-ultralight-repair-stand It works great. For the garage we just bought a few cheap hanging racks that hang the bikes from the front wheel. No name brand that I see on them. Nothing fancy.
Upgrade your front gear
Lol 🤣🤣🤣
@@eightwheeladventures nah seriously i have the old gen of this one and its worthin trust me buddy
Upgrade to what though on the front?
@@eightwheeladventures the shifter make it to 2 speed on front
@@REB00TED. Oh definitely not for me. Lol. I love my 1x in the front on this bike. I had a 3x way way back in the day about 25 years ago. The 1x drivetrains of today are so much better in my opinion.
I love my Roscoe! Had it for just over a year now, rode it through all 4 seasons and its worth every penny!!
Woohoo awesome. Yeah mine is about a year and half and it's been ridden in everything. Lol
That bike rips stock!
Agreed. It's a fantastic bike.
Dragon's Tail - Twisty and intense. Similar to well know motorcycle event. 3 Tier - Three steep climbs up a tiered hill. South Ridge - Southern most ridge on the course. Berm Valley - Because there are Berms in a Valley. Similar to the Fern Gully, a children's story. Space X - We developed the area with the large jump in mind. It was like a launch pad. We were working on the trail during the first manned SpaceX launch. Bacon - Modeled after Juicy Bacon at Dryer Rd Park (which we also take care of). When bacon is cooked the edges are twisty like the course. Hydro - Because there was an old broken dam back when the trail was made. The new dam and pond was put in 2023. Peanut Butter Hill - While it's wet, it's like creamy peanut butter. Eagle - Many long climbing trails are named this. Baby Shark - when we were developing the rock garden there was a shark fin shaped rock. The rock garden isn't very big, just enough to be annoying. What shark songs are also annoying?... Baby Shark. I use to have a blue tooth speaker out there that played the song while you went over the rocks in hopes it would get stuck in your head. John's Hill - John is the land owner and we wanted to honor him with naming this memorable climb after him.
Haha thanks. This is awesome. 😄 Love it.
Thanks as well for putting in all the work on the trail system and the event itself. Was a first timer to the event and it was a blast to ride in. Will have to convince the rest of the family to give it a try next year. And to anyone else out there reading this. COME RIDE THIS EVENT NEXT YEAR.
Ey is that a garmin edge 530?
Yes it is. Works great. I need a different mount for it so it doesn't stick so far out.
What a great course. So flowy and fast in sections. Good luck in your future races.
Thank you. It's way harder racing than I ever thought it would be but it actually is alot of fun.
Wtg Chris thank you for the opportunity to follow your adventures! Loving that I get to see Gigi. Makes my heart happy 💜
Thanks Bo. It's lots of fun being out there. 😄
been there dude
LOL was such a hard race. Lots of fun for sure, but way way hard.
G jfud
Just to confirm, those are 24" tires? How have thise been working out? I wasn't sure as of what age to use 24"
Yes 24". They work great. It's a great bike for 7-10 year olds
@@eightwheeladventures That's good to know. Then I can upgrade relatively soon.
@@eightwheeladventures Quick question. They have bikes for sale at REI. Do you think the Co-op DRT 1.3 is a good deal? Or is the Roscoe 6 better? I heard the Roscoe now uses the same frames on all models. Idk about the frame on the Co-op.
@@Jose-sy1je That REI bike seems like a decent bike for the price. You probably can't go wrong with starting with a bike like that. We do love our Roscoes in this house though they are a bit more money. LOL
@@eightwheeladventures I am not really planning of buying another bike down the road. I do want to keep it for a long time and be able to upgrade components on the bike when necessary. You are saying the Co-op is decent for the sale price. Does that mean you think the Roscoe 6 is better?
Good times with the spouse is always a good time
100% agreed. Lots of fun for sure.
Nice video's, I like the idea of showing families having fun. I'd kind of like to take my own family on such an adventure. One thought though on the editing. It seems like lots of the scenes of riding through the trees are sped up drastically. I'd like to show my own kids what I ride through the trees would actually look like but these ones seem to overstate it. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how it looked to me
Thanks Randy for watching. Appreciate the comments as well. The family certainly has a blast getting out to ride. The riding that you see isn't sped up at all in any of our longer videos. I think some of the "speed" is due to the wide angle on the gopro. I experimented a little in a few shorts with speeding things up and it's real obvious that I did. Lol.
What makes the Roscoe 7 better than the 6? As far as I know the 6 has the same frame, so you could probably upgrade on specs, right?
Yes the new 6 is much closer to the 7 that I have. The frame is now identical. With the 7 you'll get the Deore drivetrain with 12sp where the 6 is only a 9sp. The forks are probably similar in spec from a quick look at the moment. The new 6 is a decent bike for the price although the spec is a bit lower. If you have the funds go with the 7. The 12sp and the Deore is rock solid for a drivetrain. The older 6 if you can still get one is a decent bike. Jack rides one of those even though the frame is a little older.
@@eightwheeladventures Does 12 sp mean you'll have an easier time on climbs as with the 9 sp? Or is the range the same and you mainly have more refined gears between highest and lowest?
@Jose-sy1je the cassette on the 9sp ranges from 11-46 teeth and the 12sp cassette goes from 11-51 teeth. So yes the 12sp will give you a couple more easier gears for climbing and I think it's 1 more in between some where. I would have to look specifically where it lays.
@@eightwheeladventures The lower number (11) stands for the easier gears if you go uphill? Or is it the higher number?
@Jose-sy1je higher numbers are easier when it comes to teeth on the cassette in the back.
Maxxis Assegai up front and a DHR minion 2 for the back that's my set up and I love it
The noise on the video is alot. Try ND filter
Thanks I'll take a look at that. Appreciate the tip.
I love these videos
Aww Katie. Thank you. The family has so much fun making them. So glad the season is getting going again. Appreciate you watching
New ones! Buy new ones !
I have maxxis dissectors front and rear on the new bike and they are fantastic!
What tires are you on?
Just the stock that came with the Roscoe. I've pretty much worn them out. Lol
I have kryptotals dh soft on the rear and enduro soft on the front. Way better than the stock XR4s
For a plus sized hardtail I run 2.8" high roller 2s front and rear
Magic Mary on the front and a big Betty on the rear. Hasn't failed me so far
Maxxis wetscreams😂
