The game will probably be okay. Itll be safe, with the tried and true Ubisoft formula as usual. That's the thing with massive companies is they increasingly take less risks the bigger they get. However, the people who are wishing failure on it will be disappointed. Even ubisofts worst assassins creeds sell gangbusters

This happens because theres only one sprite slot that can hold powerups. The developers did this because the NES had very limited RAM to use, so small optimizations like this really mattered, and in normal gameplay it would be rare for a player to spawn a second powerup while the first one is still active. If it does happen though, the new powerup simply overwrites the previous powerups data.

Imagine this happening in Dire, Dire Docks from Mario 64, and the vanishing and metal caps keep disappearing each time you try to spawn both of them! 🤣

Really solid points, lad! Especially since I think most of the time, people that talk about these games have negative preconceptions and probably wouldn’t play them anyway. There’s also the fact that sometimes even if a game is really good, it might not sell as well as it should. Even if it’s a game that tries to do something different than what people expect.

This is so hard especially because there's some weird input shenanigans that means you're not guaranteed to get the code even if you input correctly. But keep at it!

Then Sega realized they went too far with this and made it a lot easier with Sonic & Knuckles haha.
