In this video I explore using Flux and Fire to eliminate magnetic base metals from scrap gold jewelry.

The short answer is - not much! This is really about understanding the base metals in the gold-plated scrap. The experiment with this micro-batch is only to analyze the process. Sure, it is fun with acids and fire, but it is definitely not economically feasible at such small levels. If it were scaled-up it could possibly work out with somewhat decent results.

Gold Types - well that is not really right because there is only one Gold. This video is about Karat, Gold Filled and Gold Plated mostly and how it relates to refining. Thanks to my now over 1,000 subscribers and Happy New Year.
