Welcome to our self-built campervan for a family of 4! We built this van to feature a bright lounge space with plenty of storage for toys. We included 60 liters of onboard water, a drawer for a portable induction hob, storage for all utensils and a 90-liter fridge-freezer. We made individual overhead cupboards and fixed double bed bunks to ensure the kids have their own space to rest. Our diese...

Really helpful video man, thanks a lot!
@@HASNIC Thanks for watching. Glad it helped 👌
We have a Grand California 600 without an awning. Can you fit one of these models?
@@davestechandtrek Yes. The Thule Omnistor 5200 is wall mounted and comes with the necessary brackets to fix through the fibreglass of the roof on the GC600. I wouldn’t know how to access behind the panels but I’m sure there’s a way.
Let there be "Fahrzeugstillegung" 😂
Not over here ✌️
Love this video series, will hopefully get my own build started in the next month or two and this has been a great guide and help. Thanks for uploading!!
@@bullnbear4305 ah wicked! Thanks for the message. Enjoy the build 👌
Nicely done mate - im far too scared hahaha!
Thanks bud. It’s not too bad a job but drilling holes in vans always gets the blood pressure up 😂

Definitely built 😂
One of my favourite Lazer products buddy, great vid 👏🏼
Thanks Bud! They are mega down the green lanes 🤘 Thanks for watching.
@@VanFamilyAdventures like the 12v supply in the engine bay, super handy. You could add a midi fuse in and remove the lazer spade fuse totally. Just a thought 👍🏻
@@mos_adventure_van Yep, that’s a good shout. I have more lighting plans so may do something to tidy the fusing up a bit 👌
Loving the Van build. I've a swb transporter and I'm looking to move up to a mwb crafter or sprinter. It's just me our dog and the wife. Using it for Mtb trips and weekend camping, usually on a site. Have you any advice on what to look for, spec or faults? Do I go slightly lower spec and upgrade things like you have yourself. Or bite the bullet and try and get the best my budget allows, which then cuts into the conversion. Cheers JTB
@@JtB72 Nice. It’s a big upgrade in terms of space. I’d aim for around 140bhp, trendline and if you can business pack as the base van as it gives you most of the features. I found the biggest challenge was finding a van that wasn’t beaten up or had error codes. The only thing I’ve really upgraded on the base van is reverse camera and headlights. Not many come from factory with the LED headlights and the reverse camera is a relatively easy mod. The short answer is get the best base van for your budget. It’s the foundations of the build so service history and equipment are key but some things can be added later as I mentioned. The conversion can take time - we’ve still got some jobs to do but they’re more cosmetic tweaks rather than actual conversion. Enjoy the build 🤙
Is any bathroom ?

@@InspirationForSuccessfulLife We have a portapotti under the fridge behind a tambour door so it can slide out.
Hi, great video! We are planning something similar, which seats have you used for the rear passenger seats?
Thanks. The seats are another front double from a 2017+ Crafter. You can pick them up second hand for around £200 normally.
@@VanFamilyAdventures How did you go about fitting the second seatbelt for the rear seat? thanks for the tip on the Xplore Campers seat riser too!
@@johnhunter6303 It’s a bit of a faff! Got a generic seatbelt from eBay, removed the covers, drilled a hole and it slots above the standard cassette in the seat and up through the hole at the top. So the two seat belts overlap but it’s solid.
You hypocrite. If a gypsy pulled he’s caravan were you want to go your be complaining.
Wc 🚽?

Pretty cool 😎
Thank you 🤙
Wow
Can you install two isofix in this car?
Unsure. The car has long been sold so I can check. The only thing I can remember is I think the other side has a double seat. So it may not be possible if there’s no mounting points (unless you’re good with a drill and welding?)
Is it possible to get the measurements for the bracket, I can't find anyone who will deliver this to Finland, but I working a machine shop so I could make it if someone could just take a few measurementa for me@@VanFamilyAdventures
Awesome buddy…
Cheers chap. Still need to fit an awning mind 🤪
So it seems August windows are no more. So many cowboys out there making a quick buck and then disappear before their shoddy work catches up with them.
Yep. Has occurred to me that the 10yr guarantee is work Jack now 🤪 But to be fair the roof is still there and still very much the same condition as the day it was installed
This is the only video that I've come across that has shown exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks a million!
But the struggle is very very real. Love 💕
😂😂 😂😊
Where did you get the blue trunking from. As I’m looking to put the cables in this kind of trunking
It came as part of all the kit I ordered from Bspk Solar. But you can get it on eBay.
looks great
Thank you ✌️
Nice job! Should this work with a 2019 Crafter without proximity sensors? Thanks
Having followed the link you provided it seems this kit is for 2020 onwards. I’ll have to search to find a compatible product.
@@NotABadGuy. Empirical do to same camera for the 2019 model and it’s even easier to install as no adding additional module and taking apart the screen 👍
Nice and swift bud
It’s still never fun cutting massive holes in a van though 🫣
Happy 30th Birthday. Congratulations.
Very useful one, Thanks
I was just about to give up. I have a 2009 ford focus zetec. Both halfords and the ford garage told me it wasn't compatible with ISOFIX - going to go order a bracket now!
Ace. Thanks for the comment and glad it helped
A really helpful video; thanks. I’m about to embark on the same process in my ducato. You’ve given me some useful thoughts.
Still helping 7 years later👌
Hi Chris. Can u give me a ball park figure. I’m bidding on a house and would like to factor in price of a roof. Thanks.
£10 - £15k I imagine now
@@VanFamilyAdventures Thanks.
why didn`t You install original VW camera to this radio?
Expensive way to do it as you need the factory module as well as the camera
Any idea what the trigger is on the reverse? Wondering if you could manually switch this on to check on a trailer etc.
Not sure to be honest other than the white / blue wire that gets tapped into and runs down the A pillar.
Excited to see how the build turns out mate. You don't see many MWB builds on CZcams for a family of four. I'm considering going for something bigger than our t4 for me, my wife and out two girls. Hope you don't mind me using your vids for some inspiration 😁
Master Auto Lec here What has Gone Down here is fine. I Would Locate the Feeds in the Dash then Run The Switching feeds out to Contactor (Relay) Then To Position Light. I am not a fan of Opening up The Loom To The Headlights because if Not Done To Spec This Will allow Water& Dust to Get In To The Loom sends the can Mental........ Nice
Thanks for the feedback. It's all secure and away from moisture / dust.
Thanks for this very easy guide. It made fitting my lights so easy. Cheers.
Glad it helped
Will this fit a 2004 Ford Fiesta LX?
Do they ‘just work’ if wired as you did but on a setup that has ‘headlight assist’ (or whatever it’s called - auto dipping for oncoming traffic etc)?
Unsure but if you use CANbus it should work (in theory)
How did you decide the widthways spacing within the grill?
The 3D molds they provide can only fit in one place using the vertical supports so you can’t really get it wrong.
Thanks for this video.
*PromoSM* 😋
Hi Chris I have the Lazer lights fitted to my grille of my Van haven built t6.1 2022 204 dsg TTX lwb highline kombi camper swamper transporter, I have the factory LED head lights and also a 52 inch LED curved roof light bar ,I also have the Lazer utility 25 lamps fitted to the rear of my transporter on the roof to aid with reversing and also to illuminate the area behind the van when working at night .Lazer lamps are not cheap but they make the best lights ,so you gets what you pay for and the visibility at night is just mind blowing 🤟
Mega build bud 🔥
Great work Chris. The difference they make is night and day!
Literally daylight, at night ✌️ Hope you’re well bud?

Would this help for a Ford focus 05 titanium?
Nicely edited, just the right mix of conciseness and detail. S-tier DIY video.
Just seen your post. Did you change sliding doors to bi-folds? If so did you increase opening to the full width of the room?
Thank you :-) I thought I might have to buy a new car!!
