Being Sick and Offering Up Suffering

Offering up our suffering is something the Catholic Church encourages us to do. When sick, it’s easy to become indulged in self-pity and sometimes annoyance, especially when we feel like we have things to do.
The Word Was God. What Does That Mean? What Does It Have to Do with the Eucharist?
zhlédnutí 29Před 28 dny
We take a lot of phrases for granted when we hear them throughout our lives and don't always consider what the phrase means. The Gospel of John starts out with, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." We've heard this, but what does it mean? It means so much and has ties to the true presence in the Eucharist. Mentioned: This is My Body - bookstore.wordo...

Pope Francis is the most based pope ever. ⚔️✝️DEUS VULT✝️⚔️
He's probably also the most misunderstood pope ever. Peace and blessings!
@@JourneytoSainthood yes. I hope we can get past our differences and worship God to the fullest. God bless you. 🙏❤️
God always wants us to turn from our sinfulness, but other than that, He can work with us and through us wherever we are. Introvert or extrovert, young or old, man or woman. This video is a great reminder of that! God bless
She is my patron saint. I have a large statue and relic of her in my chapel. I also have everything book on her in my monastic library. The Nun by Margaret Trouncer is my favorite. It's written in novel form and it is a delite to read.
I’ll have to take a look at that book. Thanks for the recommendation! Peace and blessings to you!
They have more time to pray because they keep to themselves. Spending time with God is awesome! 🙏❤️
Both statements are very true! Peace and blessings to you!
I struggled to comprehend this particular issue for a long long time. Thanks a lot for your simple and plain explanations. Keep up the good work. GBU
Peace and blessings to you!
"I say that next to God there is no nobler thing than suffering. Right suffering is the mother of all virtues, for right suffering so subdues the heart, it cannot rise to pride but perforce is lowly." - Meister Eckhart "Harkee, all rational souls! The swiftest steed to bear you to your goal is suffering; none shall ever taste eternal bliss but those who stand with Christ in depths of bitterness. Nothing is more gall-bitter than suffering, nothing so honey-sweet as to have suffered. The most sure foundation for this perfection is humility, for he whose nature here creeps in deepest depths shall soar in spirit to highest height of Deity.' - Meister Eckhart tat tvam asi (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tat_Tvam_Asi)
I have prayed for you again. Suffering can be like our own scourging. It forces us to decide what’s really important and what’s not. Fundamentally this isn’t our life - it was given to us by God. And we have to do what He wants of us. On a very practical note - if you’re not taking extra vitamin D for your immune system help then you must.
Thank you very much, again!
Great video! Offering up suffering is one of the greatest qualities of saints. “After recalling the apostles, they had them flogged, ordered them to stop speaking in the name of Jesus, and dismissed them. So they left the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they had been found worthy to suffer dishonor for the sake of the name.” (Acts 5:40-41). Let us also not allow our sufferings to lead us to despair, but rather that the Holy Spirit gives us the strength to overcome. Love what you’re doing, just subbed.
Amen! Thanks for the sub!
A Hail Mary for ya 🙏😁
Amen! And thank you!
Good day praying for you
Thank you very much!

I believe now having lost the faith and come back found by God a sinner Saved me because of my parents' decision as a child to baptize me
St. Monica, we know through your persistent prayer that you were able to bring your spouse and your son to God. We ask that you pray on behalf of this father, his spouse, and his son with the same persistence, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Blood types were discovered in 1901 and yet all the Eucaristic miracles pre 1901 and after are all AB blood type which also matches the blood type on the Sacred Shroud of Turin. For any doubters how do you explain this. Many blessings to you, your family and your channel thank you for sharing our Catholic Faith to the world.
Jesus didn’t come to bring peace. He came to divide. May we choose His side always
I liked the video because I don’t want to be considered divisive
Haha! I hope so!
Excellent teaching
Thank you for your work! I’m also going to try to start my own Catholic channel in the coming weeks and I applaud you for making videos like these. Best of luck to you, you’ve earned a sub
Don't forget Father Roderick (Geek Priest), Jimmy Akin, or any of the SQPN crew.
Jimmy Akin was considered for this video.
Thank you for including our channel among the geeks, Jenn! Fr. Mike Schmitz and his Bible in a Year podcast are awesome. I don't think I had heard of the other two before (though I think I see Jeff Cavins in Sr. Alicia Torres's video), so thank you for sharing them! God bless you and your family!
It's great company to be in! I love the work on your channel and I'm looking forward to part two of your "Eat My Flesh" videos. And yes, that's Jeff Cavins in there. Another Jesus Geek! God bless you as well!

Never loose hope for your children. God will bring them back. He may take them on a field trip but they will get there. ❤
Amen! It took St. Monica 17 years of prayer and tears!
Praying for my sons, my only children who have abandoned us on command of their wives who are very broken people. They have been forced to choose between their wives or their parents, sign of these horrid times. St Monica, please help! 🙏
Amen. I'm sorry to hear you're going through this. Keep praying!
Many moms are praying for their children, St Monica please intercede for us to God!
Amen!

When I began my walk in Christ I remember asking some more experienced brothers and sisters about how to develop love for others and they told me, pray that you would see others as if through the eyes of the Lord. To this day I often include this in my prayers. 🙏
That's beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
