Vacuum-powered gyro instruments are still relevant in aircraft. C172 checklist still has a vacuum gauge, in order to make sure that you have enough airspeed , so that the gyrocompass, and turn-and-bank indicator work properly.

Had a 54 Chevy. Installed a double action fuel pump. It had a built in vacuum pump.Even at full throttle wipers slowed a bit ,but kept going!

You need to tune the engine so it has more vacuum. Are you using the vacuum advance?

I’m a McAllister too! My grandpa is Wayne McAllister, and apparently I also have some Irish blood in me as well from my main family, the Iversons.

...I love all things old school, and love my old cars and trucks original..that said, vacuum wipers suck...I remember as a kid in the early 1970's, our old 1952 Dodge truck had vacuum wipers...and I remember how, when it was raining, they would slow down, then stop working when we went up a hill..then you couldn't see a thing...unnerving to me as a kid, and I remember asking dad why they did that?.."they're vacuum wipers" he told me..well, I didn't know what that was, but I concluded that they sucked...even our old 1963 Falcon station wagon's wipers didn't act like that(they were undoubtedly electric)...those old vacuum wipers stuck in my head when I grew older, and saw them in other old cars from the 40's and 50's...what really shocked me, though, was when I learned that they were still in use in some vehicles in the 1960's and into the early 1970's!...I was sure that those archaic things had gone out of production by the mid-1950's!....

Grandparents John Jack McAlister &Sarah Crawford Mcalister came to America from the way of Antrim Mead co. Ireland 🇮🇪 I am member of Clan McAlister would love to meet some cousins from over the pond. What I would give to have a small cutting from those beautiful rhododendrons!

reason the doors and windows are painted light blue to to protect and ward off any evil spirits . i did a road trip from my house in arizona to colorado and back. stopped in old town santa fe on my way back home back in september this year

@1:07 that’s the church that has the spiral staircase in it. story goes that the nuns prayed for several days and on the last day jesus christ sent St. Joseph (correct me if i’m wrong) to build a staircase. when he was finished the nuns went to pay him and he disappeared back to heaven.

Love the RainX products, we to were traveling in the pouring rain and love how at times the wipers didn't even need to be on. Then again in our 47 having the wipers on isn't much help clearing the rain of the windscreen.
