Thanks, Charlie! It always has a unique smell about it. No matter what time of year, or what year it is, it always has a great smile. Seems like they smell is the same whether I was five years old or 50 years old! It always is so nostalgic! Reminds me of my dad, grandfather, and uncle. So where are you located?

Thanks a lot. I just do what I do. Technology is a good thing, but it comes in so many different forms. Some can make life easier, but at the same time, can be so complicated. It’s hard to use it! Where are you located if you do not mind me asking.

I like doing it by hand myself. Seems like you have more control about the stack and how you put it in the barn. True, it’s a lot more work. But more satisfying to me. Thanks for your comment.

As compared to the mega forms, I am just a needle in a haystack! But, not many farms that are operated this away around here. Especially, those that have been in the family for years. Even at that, most of them are crop farmers. But, we need all the farmers, no matter what they do.

If it’s up there, like it is here, very hard to find anyone to help. Even young guys. This is why, several years ago, I decided to fix the system where me and my dad could basically do things ourselves. I actually have one of my video describing that! 4:24

Thanks for the kind words! I can appreciate your history as well. I have heard of other people, who were blind using the rope system. In fact, there was an older lady who lived down the road from me, sort of like a second mom to me. Her aunt, was blind. She actually had a rope from her house into her garden. And she would tend the garden by herself. I am fortunate enough now, I still do have a good bit of vision, even though I am quite a bit impaired. I just felt compelled about six months ago or so to put a channel like this together. Glad you can enjoy it.

Thanks for subscribing! I own 100 acres of our family farm that has been in our family since 1866. I am a eighth generation farmer. I have grown up working around this farm since I was a kid. Worked with my grandfather for many years growing up. In fact, he even gave me some calves, to raise and grow my own little herd throughout the years. My grandfather passed away in 1997. At which time, my dad and I both ran this form together. When he passed away in 2020, it was his wishes to leave me the farm and, everything with it. He knew, I had worked hard on this farm all my life, and felt I deserved it. Plus, he knew that I would be one of the family members that would carry on the family tradition as long as I could. In many cases, once forms are inherited, they are quickly sold off to cash out. Not for me. I am caring on my dad‘s wishes. And for the most part,my siblings know this is true. 3:08 3:16 4:13

@@jasonbarber5643 Thanks so much for sharing that with me. I grew up on a small family farm(much smaller than yours) we had some pigs, couple of cows, chickens and a very large garden. We also had a small herd of goats(which were fun to be around) and one time we even had 8 baby raccoons that dad found in the attic of our neighbors down the road. I shall always remember those golden memories....

That’s cool. Not to be nosy, but are you disabled or anything like that. Maybe the reason you found my videos interesting? With myself, being legally, blind, many people, even those who know me here very well, are fascinated that I can still do the things I do, while at the same time being visually impaired. What part of the country are you located in?

@@jasonbarber5643 Not to worry....you are not being nosy. I worked on farms when I was just a boy growing up, learned many things while on the farm(which in my opinion a lot of kids today are not getting) like working hard, getting dirty, working with your hands and mind, learning how to drive a truck/tractor. I am legally blind in one eye(right) which the Army did not like when I was drafted in Nov.66, in the Army for 2 months and then they said nope.....they told me I could not drive, fire a weapon, fly an airplane etc....My twin brother eventually went to Vietnam for 13 months and he just passed last Dec. from complications from agent orange. I reside in Rochester NY worked on farms in the Churchville area which is just west of Rochester. Just for sake of argument I have been driving for the last 53 years with nary an accident or ticket and I shoot rifles/shotgun/pistols left handed which I gotta say I am damn good at too. If you need to know more just ask.....

@@jasonbarber5643 When I was way younger I handled many a hay or straw bale (thousands) I would think. Anyway the farms here in upstate New York would use hay hooks. Like what Capt.Hook would have on but the ones we used would have a wooden handle about 5 or 6 inches long and 3/4 diameter. As the bales came off the baler we would use those hooks to snag and drag the bale to its proper spot on the wagon.
