"Baba Novak" it's a Romanian song sung and written by Phoenix team so all credits goes to them!
Baba Novak (Starina Novak) was a Serbian haiduc (rebel) who distinguished himself in many battles against the Ottoman Empire. He is considered a national hero by both the Serbs and the Romanians.
Novak was one of the most important general in Michael the Brave army participating in many of his battles, an example being the Battle of Calugareni.

You wrote in the description that he was a serbian haiduc, but wasn't he also half romanian? I thought that was a big reason as to why a lot of romanians consider him a national hero, besides fighting alongside Michael the Brave, because he had romanian origins as well. He was born in the Timok Valley, which was an area known for its population of vlachs. Apparently his mother was of basarab origins (House of Basarab) too
Would be a shame if a fake state stole this and used it as their anthem.

Acel vers este foarte controversat si fara inteles... alaturi de alti prieteni de ai mei ne-am batut capul sa aflam ce spune mai exact cantaretul... mai ales daca dai in slow motion, se aude "pastorii", si in versurile publicate po net, tot "pastorii" spune, stiu ca nu are sens si mi-a fost foarte greu sa traduc acel vers care nici nu stiu daca e corect

Cum adică "le sclipesc ochii *că* banul"? Cum adică "《*Sfanț* război》"? Foarte multe typo-uri! În rest, drăguț.
Din ceea ce inteleg eu, fraza "le sclipesc ochiul ca banul" se refera la ceva rau cum ar fi "le schiplesc ochiul ca dracul", stii vorba aia romaneasca, "banul e ochiul dracului", si la "Sfanț" am gresit eu, n-am fost atenta la diacritice, in cer scuze, am pus direct versurile gasite pe net si nu am fost atenta la acest detaliu, in melodie se aude "sfânt" (cred)

@@DD-RO este un nume sârbesc, deci ei își aleg ortografia. Noi nu scriem numele conducătorilor medievali în baza ortografiei vechi Slavone.
@@sticlavoda5632 Vezi cum este scris in cronicile vremii. Mama lui era romanca, tatal din Timoc, incert daca era sarba sau roman (dupa cum se stie in Timoc erau romani). Ce este clar este ca Baba Novac este roman.
