Root Canal Treatment Explained | Is it Painful? | FAQ Video
🦷 Root Canal Myths Busted! 🦷
Are root canals painful? 🤔 Let's clear up some common myths and misconceptions about this essential procedure.
1️⃣ Pain: The root canal procedure itself isn’t painful. Any discomfort comes from the condition needing the root canal. Anesthetic is used, making the process similar to getting a filling.
2️⃣ Procedure: A root canal involves cleaning and sterilizing the root of the tooth, not removing it. This leaves the tooth intact and free of infection, functioning normally.
3️⃣ Tooth Strength: Root canals don’t weaken teeth. The real culprit is the pre-existing condition, like a fracture or large filling, that led to needing a root canal.
Communication with your dentist is key! Always let them know how you're feeling to ensure the best care.

Just make sure you take the pain medication as precribed. If it says every 6 hoirs then make sure its every 6 hours.
That's correct! 🙌🏼
I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed today at once, bottom two werent bad but holy hell the top 2 were incredibly painful in my case. Not sure if there wasnt enough novocaine used in the upper areas or if it started wearing off by the time he got to those two. Anyways he finished up, threw in some stitches and gauze and the dental assistant noticed me shaking and soaked in sweat, she asked if i was feeling pain during the extractions and boy was I ever for those top two teeth. Few hours later though after taking some ibuprofen i feel better. Gums and jaw are a little sore though.
Hi! Thanks for sharing your experience. Sorry to hear the top two were so painful. It's good that ibuprofen is helping. Make sure to follow your dentist's care instructions. Wishing you a smooth recovery!
Such good advice, really dentists are there to help you! I'm still feeling discomfort after 4 days, not pain. Really, looking at how much a tooth brush and paste is, they're good options to _use everyday!_
Glad you found the advice helpful! It's great to hear you're not in pain, just some discomfort. Consistent brushing and using toothpaste are definitely key. If the discomfort continues, it might be worth checking in with your dentist. Take care!
why my tooth sensitive when i eat crunchy stuff only ?
Why would my dentist tell me i need a rootcanal and a filling and that i dont need a crown…. My tooth has no visible decay on the enamel but the root of my tooth has abscess.
My tooth already 2 years still having sensitivity after replacing amalgam with composite filling.
Dr Emovon. Your generosity towards my bad breath and acid reflux is incomparable, you assured me of getting healed just within 2 months and it was so. Thanks a lot Dr Emovon on CZcams I will keep letting the world know about your good work and about your CZcams channel.
Thank you. 😊
You’re welcome 😁
I regret doing it
I have also filling pain when drinking cold whater .so my doc do root canal because its need for crown bridge

thanks doc!
Welcome! 😄
I do not put Flouride in my mouth as it hardens our penile gland in our brain causing all kind of brain disfunction. Dentists need to be honest and warn people of this as they do not care about this
Hi doctor recently I lost my teeth and I go to dentist he told me for x ray the teeth I lost was right side after periapical view doctor find out the teeth I lost was baby teeth unfortunately when I was young that's not broken but know it's broken and in X-ray there is a teeth available.but doctor told me that teeth will not come out you have to go for the teeth implants or bridge. I need your guidance in this way what should I do I'm 24 year's old boy I'm to much confused. Please suggest me should I wait for the natural teeth to grow and take the broken teeth place or go for as doctor recommended me .and one doctor also told me for the surgery but it's very expensive I can't afford it's please help your valuable insight will be helpful . Thank you.
If you have adult teeth under your baby teeth they will most likely come in once baby teeth are removed. I'd wait and see
Hi Doctor Before the extraction I already had a swollen mouth and after the extraction I have been experience severe headache on one side of my head(the extraction side) pain on the swollen mouth.
Hi Matthew, sorry to hear you're experiencing this discomfort. Swelling and headaches can sometimes happen after extractions, but it's important to get checked if the symptoms are severe or persistent. Please contact your dentist or healthcare provider to discuss your symptoms and ensure everything is healing properly. Take care!
This cream puff is definitely part of the LMNOP brigade 🙄
My oral surgeon sucked!!!! Two teeth taken out and sent home with no painkillers. Tylenol isn’t helping. 🤬🤬🤬
Same here ,😢 it really hurts
I recommend contacting your oral surgeon to discuss your pain management options. They may be able to provide additional guidance. Take care!
Hey.
Great job. I remember when you were in Dental School.
Hi can anyone reply to my question. Are wisdom tooth erupt in pairs?
Hi there! Wisdom teeth can erupt at different times and don't necessarily come in pairs. It's common for them to appear at different rates or not at all. If you have concerns about your wisdom teeth, it's best to consult with your dentist for personalized advice.
It was sooo painfullll 😢😢😢😢😢😢
I'm sorry to hear that! Hang in there and follow your dentist's instructions closely. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
“Get the foundation all fixed up”-the wildest part actually lol
is it normal to have severe swelling on day 2?? iam very much confused why i am having very much swelling on day 2 instead of healing. Is this normal??
How are you now? I’m going to sleep and when I wake up it will be day two
@@64BitGuitar its day -6 the swelling has reduced but not cured completely. i do feel the pain in a tolerable mode bcoz of the stitches in sideways & its coming inbetween my teeth. Other than that. Everything is good. Not sure how long it will take for the stitches to fall off.
Hi there! Some swelling is normal after tooth extraction, especially around day 2. It's good to hear that the swelling has started to reduce. The pain can be due to the stitches, which usually dissolve on their own in a week or two. If the swelling persists or you're concerned, it's best to check with your dentist. Wishing you a smooth recovery!
He forgot to mention to visit a flower greenhouse on the way home….the people will notice you have gauze hanging out of your mouth and give you free plants to make you feel better…. It totally works
😂😂great advice
It's always nice to find unexpected kindness during a tough time. 😅
OK I’m sure I speak for many that I could really use instruction on how to brush my teeth after extraction. I understand it's important to do, but how? How do I not end up with toothpaste in the area or how close can I brush to the teeth next to the extraction site?
I hate that I did fillers , the pain is a nightmare, it’s getting more intense.
Thank you. Another dentist on another different channel said that there should be zero pain after a filling which doesn’t really make sense since you are drilling and digging inside tooth so naturally it would be inflamed or sore after. I just got two deep cavities filled on my one side and the numbing hadn’t even wore off all the way but my gums and teeth are so sore and throbbing and hurt worse than when I had cavity open. I just wanted to know if normal or not. I really liked the dentist and her team and she filled a cubits on other side a month ago and I remembered hurting a lot the first day and some the following day but this time it’s even worse but I got multiple teeth worked on this time. I appreciate this info and will wait a day or so to see if improved. As a kid, my filled cavities never hurt but they were not as deep either. I was also concerned maybe I was having a reaction to the actual composite material. The pain is pretty bad.
Avoid alcohol? What if you can’t?
thats a different doctor
Had my wisdom teeth tooken out yesterday and I'm still numb 😢 on my chin
Tooken?
Hi there! I hope you're doing better now. Numbness can sometimes linger after an extraction, but it should gradually improve. If you're still experiencing issues or have concerns, it’s a good idea to follow up with your dentist. Wishing you continued recovery!
I once had acid relux and chronic bad breath for over 10 years and I visited so many States in the United States seeking for help but it was all leading to spending of thousands of dollar😢 until I was watching a CZcams series and I came across Dr.Emovon on CZcams ads and I decided to order his herbal medication and today I’m fully well from this problems.#dremovon❤
Yes you need blood clot to preserve bone loss
I got a filling but mine is sensitive and i have a tooth pain that comes and go..and its a month since i saw the dentist
Hi! I hope you've been able to address the sensitivity and pain since your comment. If you're still having issues, it's important to check back with your dentist to ensure the filling is properly adjusted. Wishing you relief and a speedy resolution!
On day 5 it still hurts well my jaw
Dr. Steinweg, I'm wondering if it's necessary to get dental implants after extraction? Found out from kriss that jawbone recession can occur after tooth removal, and now I'm a bit hesitant to get my tooth pulled 😫
what kriss???
you can also have dentures or bridges, it's case to case basis, i also use kriss ai for my dental questions it's a lifesaver!
You can just get implant immediately or bone graft if you chose to get implants later!

This is terrible advice. Find a better dentist.
whats so terrible about it?
What a bunch of QUACK! Listen everyone who cares... the signs of the times are amoung us... did you hear that? The SCAMs are everywhere! If you lack Wisdom... you will suffer! Therefore, dont forget to read your basic instructions before leaving earth.
Of course you would say over the counter pain relief is all that's needed.! You all don't speak for each individual and unlike a few we don't become addicted but require stronger medicine and it should be at our discretion not yours!. We pay for it not you.! This narrative needs to stop.
The pain I had straight after was an 8! Cocodomol didn't touch it. 24 hours later pain 1 or 2 out of 10
Not me smoking a joint after my tooth extraction to cure pain.😭😭
Hi, the past week after x-rays I had antibiotics and Ibuprofen 600 for a terrible tooth pain. Next week a back molar will be extracted(has a crack in the middle so the root canal won’t last more than 6 months the Doctor said), if I had antibiotics 12 days ago, it is recommended to have them again in 5 days or do you consider that is better if I don’t have more? Thank you!
If you've had Antibiotics more than tens days your infection should have cleared. After your extraction you can take Antobiotics if you wish, as it will be just a more safe state to choose. The dentist shoule give you Post-Op instructions to follow aftercare. Follow it to the letter... Good Luck! <><
Thank you so much because I am a kid who has gum, disease and Yeah so I am going to go to my dentist in about two days so yeah
I wonder how many people on laughing gas have told this guy how hot he is…because omg 🥵🥵🥵
now I feel I have Frankenstein mouth. 🥲 Eating with seams inside is weird. 😂
Man im 34 years old and i haven't been able to smile since i was a little kid cause my 4 fromt teeth have black cavitiy holes on them. What do you suggest for me ?
I am afraid only a Cosmetic Dental Surgeion will help you. If you are low income, check your County Social Services Office for further assisntance. Good Luck <><
same here. only im 22. im getting crowns abs fillings but debating dentures.
i don't feel sensitity to cold, hot, sweet... it's just acute pain, in the whole upper part, 1 Ibuprofen every 12h helps... but it's been 2 weeks already...
Dont take too much pain meds. It's not good for your kidneys. Better go see a reputed dentist and get an opinion. And please consult two or more dentists before any procedure. Their opinions may differ but you would have a clear idea of what's going on
Have had pressure on it with gauze for hours and still bleeding
Me too! But what I did was took a wet tea bag (any) and bit down on it for 30 mins then I took it out and kept my mouth open for an hour and the bleeding stopped! But, make sure to consult with your dentist! Peace <><
I got an extraction on Friday. Today is Monday and still having off and on again pain. The extraction itself was not painful at all. They put numbing cream on before the shot. I could barely feel the shot for just a few seconds. There was a little pressure when the tooth came out, nothing that was concerning. If you need to go to the dentist, go sooner than later. I speak from experience.
What a bunch of QUACK! Listen everyone who cares... the signs of the times are amoung us... did you hear that? The SCAMs are everywhere! If you lack Wisdom... you will suffer! Therefore, dont forget to read your basic instructions before leaving earth.
This dentist speaks half truths... and listen, a half truth is a Lie!
I had my tooth filled 2 to 3 week's ago, i have been in excruciating pain that it goes up to my eye and to my ear, cold food or drinks sends me to the moon, hot food or drinks used to do the same but it feels more better, i drank orange juice the other day the pain was so bad i wanted to die... broke a sweat felt like i was gonna pass out. The only way i get comfortable with no pain just pressure is by laying down..... it sucks
Mannnnn same here!! I got my tooth filled 5 weeks ago. Now I’m in super pain. I can’t bite down or eat or drink anything. I’ve been getting headaches and ear aches. Just from this one tooth. I’m confused to why?
@tyonnstuckey7248 they told me I have to have a root canal but there's barley a tooth to do so, I manage to get the pain under control with 4 ibuprofen strong oregel, and use a straw to drink, stick to light food more and likely they hit a nerve they did it to me an openly admitted it after I complained.
@tyonnstuckey7248 take 4 strong ibuprofen and lay down, it helps with the pressure
I’ve heard that spitting is an issue. Is that true?
Yes oooo u will start spitting like a pregnant woman
