    Thank you for this clear explanation. You have no idea how grateful I am to hear exactly why I have been sick with CFS, Fibromyalgia, and now Long covid too. I am 55 and have been sick since I was 18. I always knew it was from trauma but I didn't really understand why. ❤❤❤

    • @lifecarewellness-IL
      @lifecarewellness-IL Před 16 dny

      I'm sorry that happened, @milleabel. Might I suggest trying noticing one sensory aspect of something that is pleasant to you: the smell of fresh baked bread, the sound of your favorite piece of music, the tactile feel of water moving on your skin when you're swimming, the taste of a piece of fine dark chocolate, etc. Savor the memory of the experience for just a few seconds. Don't allow yourself to go into the full memory - just stay with the chosen sensory aspect. Do this exercise over time - building the time by a bit each time. Notice what happens in your body as you savor the sensory experience. I hope this helps!

      @lifecarewellness-IL Před měsícem

      Thanks for your patience with my reply. I suggest doing the Voo sound in a limited way (e.g. just once daily) to see if that can help with the yawning. You might also invite your system not to yawn to see what might emerge instead. If the yawning persists, I recommend working with an SE practitioner to uncouple the yawning from this gentle stimulation to allow what is undercoupled to emerge to be renegotiated.

    First I want to acknowledge your calm demeanor delivering your topic. I’ve viewed a couple of your videos and you remain consistent. Thank you. This is appreciated because I’m in a hyper state of fear not knowing what’s wrong with me. Other videos playing music background with exuberant personality or just exuberant personalities trigger more discomfort for me. I have been searching for tools to help me heal from my trauma from both parents. Paternal molestation. Maternal narcissistic abuse. Maternal narcissistic ran through 2020 when she finally died at 96. I’m 71. Been under the care of a psychiatrist for 30 years with medication management that doesn’t serve me anymore. Brain surgery in 2018 to remove a benign tumor front right temporal lobe. 3 years ago I started weaning from klonopin 2mg - currently at .5mg. Anxiety has increased. Psychiatrist suggested going back to dosage to reduce anxiety and fear. I replied,no. I worked too hard to get to .5mg. I’m weaning without direction or clear information about benzodiazepine harm. I had my 4th Moderna shot. My Hashimotos was not responding to medication management. A pulmonologist put me on prednisone for a month to jump start my depleted energy level. I switched up my 2 mile bike ride to 12 mile and my insomnia got worse. Then chronic fatigue set in and I’m bed bound I haven’t been able to find any medical help to unravel these variables that bring me to my current debilitating shutdown. What is it? MECFS MONDERNA vaccine injury Benzodiazepine weaning I have the following doctors Primary Endocrinologist Pulmonologist Cardiologist Psychiatrist No answers to what I just wrote. How do I find support?

    • @lifecarewellness-IL
      @lifecarewellness-IL Před 2 měsíci

      The only thing we can do, @fxrivrgirl, is start where we are. When I started doing the Voo sound, I could only go for a very short time because of low lung capacity, and I could only feel the vibrations down to my upper chest. My long capacity still could use some work, but I can feel the Voo vibrations down to my pelvic floor now. So a little practice - even one time - every day could move you in the right direction.

    Hi when I use Peter Levine's version for sound + mouth open and close. Then multiple vibrational sounds are created that vibrate from belly to throat. I find myself gagging and sometimes throwing up. Does this mean that the energy is released?

    • @lifecarewellness-IL
      @lifecarewellness-IL Před 3 měsíci

      Peter Levine theorized that completing incomplete self-protective responses can discharge fight/flight arousal energy trapped in the nervous system. Whether or not that is happening as a result of you using the Voo sound is not something I can ascertain. I'd encourage you, @piekie1986, to work with a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner who could help you work this through - and perhaps titrate the experience so it's a little more manageable. Search the practitioner directory at traumahealing.org.

    When I thought about the memory, I felt tears coming up.

    • @lifecarewellness-IL
      @lifecarewellness-IL Před 3 měsíci

      Observing memories and noticing the body's response without judgment can be powerful as long as one remains present. If being with the memory is too much, titrating the experience - noticing just a part of it at a time, for example - can be an effective way to experience and work through memories.

    I’m frightened of what’s in front of me but know I have to face it. I hate being a “Pollyanna”

    • @lifecarewellness-IL
      @lifecarewellness-IL Před 3 měsíci

      Perhaps titration can help @greyline1012. What's the smallest piece of what's in front of you that you'd be open to holding in your hand at one time? Maybe a drop of what's in front of you? As you hold it (imaginally) in your hand, notice what it's like - what it looks like, what it feels like, what emotion comes up as you hold it, what impulse your body has as you hold it. Again - not the entirety of what's in front of you - just this one drop of it. As you take time with it - and follow what your body wants - then come back for another small amount (maybe 2 drops this time) and do the same process. You'll notice your capacity to be with the feared thing will grow - usually quite quickly.

    Nothing was pleasant in the environment

    • @lifecarewellness-IL
      @lifecarewellness-IL Před 3 měsíci

      In a situation like that, something you can do is think of a sensory slice of a pleasant memory (e.g. the feel of the water on your skin when you're swimming, the aroma of warm chocolate chip cookies, the feel of the dirt when you're gardening, etc.). Not the entire memory - just one pleasant sensory slice. I hope that helps @alejandraduque4061!

      @lifecarewellness-IL Před 3 měsíci

      Thanks for your patience with my reply @HealingRootsCounselingCLE. I highly recommend Kathy Kain's Touch Skills for Therapists as a first step. That will greatly enhance your knowledge of the body and touch. Where you go after that with touch depends on your goal. If you simply want to learn more about how to work with various systems and organs of the body, Dave Berger's BASE training would be an excellent next step. Dave is a PT by training and what you learn about reading the body, including gait, and what the body is "saying" in metaphor is really helpful. If your interest is attachment and working with early developmental trauma I recommend any (or all!) of the following. Somatic Resilience & Regulation (SRR) taught by Kathy Kain and Steve Terrell is very good. Steve Terrell also has his own training, Transforming the Experience-Based Brain (TEB) that expands on SRR ideas and also includes working with Primitive Reflexes. Aileen LaPierre's NeuroAffective Touch is also excellent and covers some things that SRR and TEB does not. I hope that's helpful!

    • @lifecarewellness-IL
      @lifecarewellness-IL Před 5 měsíci

      I know Peter Levine (the developer of Somatic Experiencing) has borrowed heavily from other traditions, so it very well could be the same or similar. I will say that the Voo sound is targeted for viscera rather than the throat, even though the vibrations will occur in the throat, too.
