Talk: Frontend Access Control Using Digital Assets
We'll delve into the intersection of web development and NFT (Non-Fungible Token) technology. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, developers are constantly seeking innovative ways to enhance user experience and security. From authentication to user permissions. NFTs offer a decentralized and secure solution that can reshape the way we interact with web applications.

    Excellent talk. I'm a Fintech Developer (NodeJS, SQL, AWS service). Learning the tech was one thing to get my foot in the door, but once on the job I suddenly realised the amount of banking standards. You definitely need to know the legal/standards side of things, as well as the tech side.

    • @MartinSanders-ut9qq
      @MartinSanders-ut9qq Před 21 dnem

      @@sul-dev The key for me moving from regular development into fintech development was teaching myself blockchain and making a demo app (a very basic blockchain app in NodeJS). I don't actually use the skills learned making the blockchain app now i'm doing fintech, but it was learning blockchain that got my foot in the door as it showed I had an interest in fintech programming principles, e.g., security. I'd highly recommend playing around with blockchain, ideally NodeJS, and adding an app or two to your CV. It will definitely help you get into the industry.

    meh... whats wrong with standard JS, HTML, CSS, its more simpler, standard and straightforward... anyone who need framework to do web are coders who lack of skill to do the actual coding... framework are the way to do simple thing so complicated...

    • @3pleFly
      @3pleFly Před 4 měsíci

      Javascript is very much not standard, there's many different standards in javascript just looking at a functional paradigm vs OOP, and when you get to actually writing either one there's still too many ways to do anything. It's not simpler at all when you have so so much extra code that a framework would just put behind a screen. The dev experience of building a vanilla project is uninanimously unscalable and very frustrating. You have to build everything by hand and brick, instead of using drills or workers.. very inefficient..

    • @uraymeiviar

      I very much agree with you. An original idea behind React was mentioned in the first part of the presentation -- "UI is a function of data". React strives to be declarative, which is not what DOM API supports.

    • @icode8029
      @icode8029 Před 2 měsíci

      Yes it's absolutely doable to build web using Vanilla JS, but in large apps things might get outta hand, Library or Framework like Vue, Svelte and React exist to help developers in building those apps, well in a nutshell they only exist because they want developer to have easier and more enjoyable developer experience

    It can make developers' lives easier, but I don't think that will be a part of React. Maybe it can be used as a separate utility for quickly boosting the performance of some projects. This approach can sometimes help optimize the code base written by inexperienced developers, but it does not cover all cases, so also can give the opposite result. There are many cases where there is no need for memorization; for example, the "videos" props can get from the API only on the mount and don't change anymore during the live cycle of an application, so there will be no rerenders. I think it's tough to check programmatically if a particular component really needs memorization. For example, let's think about the example in the video. We can prevent <VideoTab> render after changing the heading by removing this from props and then using Context or some "State manager" to get it inside the <Heading> component. In most cases, good component splitting and using a state manager perform better than memorization. Context is a nice feature added by React, but they have many weaknesses compared with "state manage" libraries. In my opinion, the React team needs to add its built-in state manager to provide more flexibility when working with component states.
