I guess I need to go find the video on how to dress a slate frame. Lol. I actually clicked on the video that said it was "Question 5 of 7 questions in 7 days." So then realized I needed to find the one titled question 1. I like your teaching style though. I hope you are still making videos on this channel? I'll have to check for that as well as if you did a video on how to make a slate frame? I discovered tambour embroidery through Kat Makes a couple of months ago. I have watched several videos by couture design houses and from other people. It's such a beautiful art form. I am so impressed with the creativity of the people who do tambour embroidery and am eager to learn. I started doing embroidery in 5th grade. And kept it up for years. Even sometimes using my mother's old sheets. I bought some hooks, thread and materials last year. But hadn't discovered adding beading and tambour embroidery. This is something I would have been so intimidated by before. And I am a little anxious. But the beauty of it and the desire of wanting to learn all I can about it far exceeds that anxiety. I know the anxiety is just not wanting to be bad at it or learn how to properly do it. But that doesn't mean that I can't learn. Plus I miss being creative. Thank you for the time and effort that you put into this. I appreciate it.❤

Is the frame used for just decorative artworks? Or for use in garments as well?

I’m unsure how to embroider material, large material, say if I want to embroider the hem of a dress. Would you be able to explain why we frame the fabric like this? And how I can tambour material to be used for garments, I would like to tambour embroider a large piece of fabric running down the side of my body. Does one need a frame for this? Is there a specific tulle you use, or will any standard synthetic tulle work? I'm experienced in tambour beading on organza but haven't tried tulle yet.

I just received some tambour hooks and had previously seen some videos about how to do this technique. I thought, how hard can it be? Turns out it's not easy or intuitive, even for fairly skilled sewists and embroiders! But thanks to your video I realized I was wrapping the thread around in a full circle instead of 1.5 circles. I think that will make a big difference in how it goes next time I try it. Thank you.
