The last memory i have is him laying in a hospital bed at my grandparents house. And the time we go to my grandparents agin he just was gone. I didn’t understood it. My mom didn’t take me to the funeral to say goodbye.. so i thought he would be there the next time, and the next time after that. Until my grandmother said that he wasn’t coming back. I never hd the change of saying goodbye. He was proud to be Jewish (sorry don’t know if i write that correctly) and so am i. I am born and live in the Netherlands so my English isn’t all

I know that the scratches are supposed to be people that were trying to escape, but weren’t the gas chambers destroyed by the soviets when they liberated auschwitz? I remember them telling that they were remade, so I’m curious why they decided to put handprints in it, kind of ruins the experience to artificially put hand scratches in it
