Don't forget to swap out your summer/race compound tires when temps get below 50F outside. Many soft compound tires can become brittle and damaged if you drive on them in the winter. Check with your manufacturer to see if you need to swap yours out when things get cold out 🥶 #diy #mitsubishi #evolution #evo10 #evoX #winterprep #racetires #tires #wheels #winter

This is our 1960 Ford F100 project truck. Currently it's got an inline 6, 3 speed column shift trans, manual brakes and steering. Our plan is to swap in the engine, trans, and suspension from a 2004 Crown Vic. (Then my girlfriend will finally be able to drive her own truck) If you're interested in seeing more please subscribe. Did you replace the rear diffuser, if so which one did you get? Thanks! Nice car!
@@bradwallace8554 I did not get a rear diffuser when I had the car. But if I get another one I'll build a full custom one

Getting a muffler delete for my second gen soon too :) There was no way i was spending 500 dollars on an exhaust for the fit when they sound the same if not the delete sounds better then the 500 dolar exhaust lol
You know what I had an HKS exhaust on mine and I think you might be right
LOL 🎯. I was having that same problem & came up with the same idea. Connect the ones at the pump last.

I appreciate it. I just got my F100 to the shop, and I’m looking forward to getting into driving shape.

Thank you
nice to see a build being done not in a million dollar shop ,what made you decide to do the swap?
Appreciate the support, the truck belongs to my ex..she bought it without being able to drive it. The original plan was to buy it and swap it so her and I could cruise around together. However, the project is being finished by someone else now..
Do you currently still own this vehicle?
I don't anymore, currently have an Evo X
@@Fast-is-Fun why did you get rid of it?
Sold it for a ZL1 then prices went up, still saving for one
@@Fast-is-Fun gotcha!
Great build
Like your videos! Did you know is that suspension fits a 59 Chevy truck? Thanks
This kit was made for years 57-64, they also have a 53-56 kit.
Were did you get that book so I can do the same to my 57
The instructions came included in the swap kit
Nice one💪🔥👍🤝💯
Better way to remove rivet drill with an underside bit as If the rivet is a quarter drill the center of head out with a 3/16 and then take your air hammer tool and chisel the head off and then drive it out with a punch.(only need to drill slightly below the head)
I like yes lot of story😂
👍😊 thks

Cool Build! Are you going to move the CV axle forward? subscribed.
Currently we plan to keep the axles in line with stock, but we may consider it once we get things mocked up.
Did u ever do secondary cat deletes while running this exhaust?
I didn't do only secondary deletes, but later I did do full headers with no cats and it was WAY too loud. With headers I made a custom cat back with Magnaflow Race mufflers. I think with only secondaries deleted you may be ok sound wise but it will be louder.
does this have primary and secondary cats??
At the time it has stock headers and cats, just muffler replacement
i don't think I've ever seen a grown man get in the back of a 5th gen Camaro in my whole life lmao. That was impressive !!
LOOOL
3rd gen ford pickups look the best, in my opinion. Simply beautiful truck you guys got there.
Does the in-line 6 run okay?
Yes, it runs very well. Has a ton of low down torque.
What state do you live in and do you get snow?
Indiana, and yes we get snow and salt down here.

I know this is an ancient video but did you run into a clearance issue on the passenger side? My SE headers touch my subframe and it vibrates pretty bad
The passenger side was pretty good, you may want to check your engine mounts. They can wear over time and cause clearance issues.
Yes, some people have had to dimple/hammer one or both sides in. More commonly, it’s the driver’s side, due to the steering shaft contacting one of the frontmost collector pipes. However, you might end up needing to dent in an extra pipe or two, depending on how bad your “batch” of headers came out… Obviously, spending $$$$ on Texas Speed, BBK, Stainless Power, American Racing Header (ARH), Kooks, etc. big name brands, will usually yield better results. I’ve personally even had to dimple a number of those $1000+ long tubes, and it wasn’t something I was happy doing (company wouldn’t exchange, and gave me the “run-around” about installation tips).
Anyone had problems with motor mount being in the way
You may need to replace your engine mounts. If it's minor interference you could clearance the header a bit (use a hammer)
@@Fast-is-Fun thanks brother 🙏 hopefully I can make something work
Good video guys. Where did you get the headers?
He bought the headers through Speed engineering's site. They can be found several other places as well. Amazon, ebay, performance part sites.
Great video! If you guys want more corrosion resistance, go with the mbrp axle back t409
Honestly one of the best sounding exaust and great price I'm getting the black one
did u buy and if so what do u think? if u could do over would u still buy it?
Have you heard about OBX headers? Those are from ebay.
Hey bro, any chance you still have this lip and are you willing to sell it??
Was this the pro series?
This is a good video!
There gonna rust regardless lol
I wonder if spraying them with black rustoleum paint would save on the life of all that rusting.?

@@Zle_blacklightning mine are ceramic coated sounds great
Do you reccomend over muffler delete?
I did try running it without mufflers and this sounded a bit better to me. The resonator chambers help alot with drone. It's all personal preference though. And with this setup you can always buy another slip on muffler or delete pipes.
I brought the off road connection pipes, does the 3 inch go towards the headers or, does the smaller 2.5 side go towards the headers because I can't clamp the 2.5 to a 2.5 leading towards the exhaust,I can't fit one over the other or are they not supposed to over lap just kiss each other and add a clamp?
I plan on getting this splitter, does it fit inside the camaro? I plan on transporting it to a shop so they can install it for me. Can I place the splitter in my camaro.
It should fit in the back of you take it out of the box, or you could take out the back seats and fit it through the trunk probably.
@@Fast-is-Fun that’s what I am thinking if I take it out the box and put my back seats down do you think it will fit? Just based on your experience of picking it up and seeing the size what do you think.
Yes it should fit to get it there. It's fairly flexible as you can see in the video.
Did it require a tune?
The headers don't require a tune, but you will get a secondary cat code without one. I would recommend a tune to maximize your power though. You can get a flash tune or Dyno tune.
Fast is Fun how much power would you say it made after the headers, I have a 2010, I ordered the headers a couple days ago, and I already have my tuner on stand by. Should I expect a big difference in power aside just the amazing sound?
@@bennymac6618 the headers alone should make anywhere from 10-20hp. It all depends on the engine. You should feel a difference but it may not be as much compared to doing it along with an intake and throttle body as well. And on a LS3 with those 3 mods you will make much more power adding a cam as well. Your tuner can recommend what options are best. Or the guys at Texas Speed can also steer you in the right direction too. In the end it's all about what your goals are and how much you want to spend.
Fast is Fun My Camaro is a 2010 L99 and yeah, I was thinking about being pretty cautious with the tuning. I recently got a tune for my cai, x pipe, straight pipe, and gutted cats already. The tune wasn’t anything rowdy, but it was what that car needed to wake up. However, adding these LTs, I plan to get a little bit more aggressive of a tune this time. I honestly have no idea what the car is making now and I am just curious with the longtubes how much it’ll make.
@@bennymac6618 I'd say with the other mods and tune you already have you won't feel that much of a gain. I'd recommend pairing them with a cam and intake for max benefit of the tune. But your tuner should know a little better if you have room for more power with just the LT's. Hope that helps
Need update if check engine light came on after installing? Did you have it tune? I will be ordering same set up for my car it has just cats on it straight pipe back
Yes, without cats the stock tune will throw a code. The car will still drive just fine but may run a little lean. I recommend at least a flash tune for long term use.
My '15 SS 1LE Kooks 1'7/8" with High flow cats, and after market intake mod while still using the NPP factory aft cat exhaust.required a tune. Gained 8 decibels at warm idle, and 26 decibels at WOT with the NPP fuse pulled so valves stay open. The increased exhaust scavenging changes the AFR reading from the 02's. Which changes what the stock tune AFR mapping was set for vs. a leaner AFR that is achieved with the LT and HF cats/no cats. Basically you are leaving the Torque, Power, and throttle response benefits from the modification on the table if you don't. The tune after the mod definitely woke the car up. Especially in the low end torque gains.
Just want to add. Do you "have" to tune after headers with or without cats? Simple answer is no. You are not going to explode your engine(just because of the exhaust mod; providing there isn't a pre existing condition with the valve train or anything else). Should you tune after headers, cats, offroad pipes. !!Absolutely!!. if your intention is to bolt on more performance; why not tune the ECM to accept the changes.
Toxic74 Yeah I understand you have to tune afterwords because the check engine light will come on I was just asking how long did y’all have to wait before y’all to tune it
All of these nuggets of knowledge still assume stock tunes are the best performance for the components involved in a stock scenario. They are not. They are the safest parameters set for the best fuel efficiency for that particular power train related to that vehicle's gross weight. Simply Getting a modern LS/LT GM performance shop to properly( tune a stock vehicle will yield surprising results.) those still depend on what you want out of the tune. you want the crackles on decel or throttle lift DFCO(decel fuel cut off). it's all in the tune.
Thank you, very relevant video.
