What a great video!! You really did a fantastic job bringing Tumbleweed back to her Cub yellow. To me that is the only color a J-3 should be. Lol. I've been flying all my life since I was 5 years old. Right now I am restoring my 1946 J-3 that my Grandaddy bought in 1963. I just started the restoration a couple months ago. Got a LONG road ahead of me. Lol. It's EASY tearing it down.😆 I have never seen a landing gear set up like that at 0:36 with 4 tires. Lol. Very Interesting. Thanks for sharing your AWESOME work! I will share your thoughts with his family and friends tomorrow at his wake. He was such an amazing man and good friend, he made an impact on everyone he met. I met him and his brother, Bruce, when I was 14. They were probably much too old to be hanging out with a teen, but they became my big brothers and protectors. For 32 years, he watched over me.

I'm very sad to hear about the passing of Mike Paoli, singer, guitarist and co-songwriter in Slapstick. I was the bass player in the band. He was a great guy to hang out with for the short time that band was together, tho I lost contact with most of the members after we split up. My sympathy to his family and friends.

Thank you for posting this. I just returned from Michael Paoli's funeral (the singer) where we were reminded of this band, one of many he had been in. I'd heard it before, but many had not. We will miss him tremendously.

Those tandem wheels were known as the Whittaker Tandem Gear, designed by Art Whittaker, who was a friend of my father-in-law. Those were used basically for what the oversized tires are used now: better stability on soft ground. One big drawback was that they made steering rather challenging.

What's the deal with the dual wheels at :36? I've not seen this before.

This show was friggin awesome guys! I was part of LHS's 2006 winterline. No wonder we lost to yous guys! I looked over and was all WTFBBQ the pit moved! We wouldn't be able to do that with out stuff. Our shit kept falling apart. Our xylo's wheels fell off at least once during every performance.
