Cats don't seem to label each other as strays. Strays are just part of the cat's homies. Just please be aware that some strays are cantankerous (or psychotic) if they are lost or new to the neighborhood.

I'm no cat expert just a feline fan, maybe he's letting the other cat know it needs to be friendly at all times because this human is under my protection and I will come at you. The other cat seemed to understand and expressed calmness and coolness and didn't challenge nor flee which ultimately showed no threat in anyway and gave a soft meow. Then they have a loaf off so all excited parties may return back to chill kitty vibes and make friends .Do you have the continuance of this by any chance? #catexpert ?

I have a stray I am trying to make friends with, by feeding her and just being kind. She has full on conversatgions with one of my 4 house cats which is actually helpful!😊

My cat's an indoor cat but she has access to the balcony where she can survey her property. I made the mistake of petting a neighbor's cat who just loves our property. Upon entering the house, my cat attacked me. Apparently it's a normal behavior of cats that are very territorial. In other words, be careful being kind to other cats.
Oh no! Sorry to hear this. I hope he won’t be territorial like this. He’s actually not my cat- he’s a neighborhood cat, and he comes to visit sometimes. So not sure if he is claiming me as “his” human. Thanks for the heads up though !
