This is cool! The hole reinforcement patches are brilliant! I don't think I'm going to round off the corners because that's too elaborate, and a bit wasteful (there's only so much Tomoe-river). Also, I think there is Tomoe-river paper available again. Thank you so much for the inspiration!

Great find I have a few filofaxs and other ring binders all bought from charity shops for a couple of pounds each not that I use them properly I plan i journal and i use them as very pretty notebooks it doesn't matter what date is on a page .

Next step is to get a black nib on both…. Ciaoo

And one more question - did you buy multiple binders at once or did you first order a smaller amount of them & then more after a while? I’m just thinking: I don’t know how many binders I would need & it would really be a bummer if I start to archive them in this way & the binders is discontinued down the line 🙈

Okay this is SO satisfying to watch & it comes very well in handy since I’m new to ring bound planners & have thought a lot about how to archive my inserts. I love the look of this! May I ask which size of the binder you chose to be able to store the personal sized inserts?

Doesn’t the rings disturb you people with your writing hand or arm - especially if you are left handed? Do you open the rings and take out that sheet of paper you want to write on and put it back afterwards, close the rings etc.?

I’ve seen some reviews of it where the rating wasn’t that good, but it seems to work great for you & personal size.

Nice and simple. Great! A hack for everyone who is new to „the game“ and doesn‘t want to buy a dedicated hole punch for 30 bucks: You can use your regular one. Just mark the holes with the Filofax ruler, remove the bottom lid of your hole punch (where the confetti is stored, I don‘t know how this is called in English nighter do I in my mother thounge 😅). Now you can exactly see where the blade comes out and where your mark is. Really precise and works great.

Where did you thrift this from? I’ve never come across any Filofaxes thriving in Melb :(

I used to have the personal size Purple Finsbury too, and I stupidly sold it. Major seller’s regret. It is definitely a unicorn, as you said. It’s gorgeous. The Electric Blue Finsbury is often called “purple,” but this one is the true Purple Finsbury. 💜🦄

Kaweco nibs aren't finer than other nibs, but they are made to be a little dryer, which makes them seem finer. It's funny how much I like the Brass Sport. I own a number of very expensive pens, up to a Namik Maki-e that cost a hundred and fifty times as much as I paid for the Brass Sport, but the Brass Sport has become one of my very favorite writers. Writing with it is almost addictive.

Is that cover an a6 size?

I had a similar experience with the running to do list, it actually felt quite stressful and overwhelming. I went back to variations of hobo weeks (week on one page, with notes on the other, currently using Marissa Bramucci iPlan). And ❤ on the bureau- I love mine. Husband keeps asking if I want something different, and NO, no I do not 😂

I have A4 and A5 sized notebooks from Filofax that I love. I just wish they made more neutral-colored items! Almost everything Filofax USA releases is floral-printed or glittery.

Great first video - congrats. Look up Mick L - the offstage me, who does great ink and pen reviews. As he is based in Australia many of the lovely inks he reviews are from Oz.

Very neat - certainly beats the bundles in a drawer! I currently keep mine in another unused filofax cover, but I rarely look back at them so as the binder reaches capacity the oldest year gets dumped. Instead, every year I buy a small bound diary and at the end of the year I create a tidy version of the important points/events without the day-to-day lists etc, and that's the version I keep as my longterm record. They still end up in a drawer though!

The Original is my favourite filofax - simple design and sturdy leather. That colour is gorgeous and I ordered it from Amazon in A5. When it arrived the clasp was damaged... and so was it's replacement. I decided I wasn't meant to have one so went for something different! Enjoy - they are really hard-wearing and but avoid the lighter colours of the patents as they get marked and can pick up colour from anything next to them.

Filofax all the way (apart from a couple of plain kikki-k)! My absolute favourite is the Original - I don't need loads of pockets, and they are simple and sturdy. I use Personal paired with an A5, and have a matching A5 folio cover for a notebook. Week on one page with notes page opposite in the A5, and week on two in the Personal. Has worked well for a couple of years. Hate seeing people get a new filofax and straight away dump the pages they come with as if they were contaminated. They are perfectly usable - I break out the tippex and re-date unused sets for another year. That's just me I guess but my planner is a tool not an art project. Great first video!
