I have loved my v60 clean crisp brews, I also do immersion with a flow control cap with aeropress and love that, i make americanos with it and the occasional espresso but since being i n IST i have played around with the cesve and I have been absolutely loving it except my burner is too slow, over extracts a little bit but i just use what I have right now until i get home with a butane burner but i can't believe the drastic difference with the brews.

when you got sick of 3 to 4minute espresso manual grinding, i wa slike, nah, fck that and turkish takes even longer, Getting a powered grinder when I get home to settle but for now a Mi drill works the screw driver setting is only 380rpm at fastest so it is slower than most grinders All good!

hahaha it is like putting ketchup on pasta for some! or mayonaise on Italian pasta or some water into a vindaloo. haha

it is the old model Varia hand grinder, the new one is below www.variabrewing.com/products/evo-hand-grinder my one is the last generation. The new one has a more robust handle and better way to adjust the grind size imo. But the internal is essentially the same though. great grinder however, i had to modify and get a replacement handle on mine as it is not strong enough, tbh the handle was imo not a good design but in the end i got refunded the entire unit as i had to replace the handle twice.

yeah, that is what they say but I would hazard A guess that the older whisky in there would be the shite barrels they find, maybe even defective, rejected barrels for the usual age statements and super inferior stuff. The two are just chalk and cheese really. you get that but what sort of teaspooning is it? but like i said in the video the glending is skillful but the finish is lacking, the nose is great and front palate but the finish is bust. That is like Johnnie walker blue label saying 'it contains whisky up to 40 years old and rare casks' lol but yeah, 40% abv and the nature of the bottling, boring. (i have had blue labels higher abv editions that are excellent though but not the usual blue labels)

Love it!! yeah, i havent tried new releases may differ but side by side you see the diff, if you just had it by itself i reckon it could be reasonably good too but side by side you notice the depth differences for sure. Try it! if you can geta hold of it or in a bar, try the side by side i reckon it will shock you the difference

LOL what is funny about the lamp is that it takes 6m 30 seconds to heat the cesve from room temp water to finish. I think butane would cut off 1.5mins to 2mins but i find it therapeutic the process and the slowness Everything is so fast these days. So if i get impatient i just time 5mins and come back for the last minute.

love the place but man it has gotten expensy! coffee 2 years ago wsa 1.50nzd, today 3 to 5.50 nzd insanity, i can't imagine the terror the locals are going through!! everything is expensive more so than 2 years ago by an order of magnitude.

@@christinecamley Honestly, insanity. I was here 2 years ago almost to the week and things are 300% to 600% it is shocking, i feel bad for the locals. Coffee was 1 to 1.50 nzd now 3 to 5 nzd everything is up, food is 200 to 400 percent up. fuck when we arrived our train fare was 25% more now in 2 weeks alone

haha tbh, when i got it it was not $800 but is it worth $800 no way. is it delicious, yes way. i usually would save this for a special occasion but for this vid i set my last aside for it. We run the biggest whisky club in NZ, non profit as well and it enables me to try ridiculous shit.

well cigars are not a health product for sure lol Actually i went through a year or 2 where I smoked one a week, at most 2 a week. Then i found i didn't enjoy them as much, i actually smoke maybe at most 1 a month on average, sometimes non so lets say 1 a month. i certainly don't think it is good for you but if it is occasional and non habitual then i suppose you are just moderating and not habitual? yeah, i smoke 3 in split croatia, nice vibe, but i don't smoke unless i find the vibe absolute. either with friends that smoke or environment that suits so no health things from it at all.

Yes ! Exactly not habitual at all occasionally maybe two a month whenever I’m out with friends getting a drink or they come over I feel perfectly fine at the moment but I’m just paranoid overtime I’m 23😅

This was a glorious. I reckon they save best shit for this stuff. It is their flagship really, like best food forward. For sherried - that is a hard one, so many sherried whiskies out there, i reckon it is the most common of the lot because it is the mokst palatable. I would actually say you should detract from sherried and seek good bourbon casks. However, that is a challenge. Bourbon you can't fck the spirit up and barrel has to be good or else it tastes like a bum's nutsack. The latest daftmill was unbelievable. i hated daftmill tbh until i tried that. Then i wa slike... that'll do pig, that'll do

@eatsmokedrink that's a really good suggestion and I didn't consider that the distillate had to be better on bourbon casks. Indeed daftmill is incredible, I've only had the 15 cask strength, batch 1, but I should explore bourbon cask more. I'd love to know how old bourbon casks compare to modern.

@@Whiskynewspaper we find clynelish does better in bourbon cask, sherry kinda hides the waxy green apple notes you love in clynelish. old bourbon, hard one. I mean... there are not many new ones so comparing it is very hard. Also old style you just get a different spirit, from the distillation process, drying process hell even the malting. all different. comparing the two can probably drive one insane. I reckon there are merits in both just the obsession with me and our club is that, and almost a bit of a morbid fascination, to 'time travel back' to how whisky was. that is really it.

great cigar! i should have gottent he thicker ring gauge though but still amazing. yeah, split quickly has become our top cities we love! awesome vibe, food, atmosphere. Gelato is great! haha How was hawaii? Bet you got another holiday planned already

5 years, nice, interesting not too calm after 5 years, they are already quite aged those sticks. Never the less, mellowing it out and smoothing out the flavours over time would not be a bad thing. excellent stick, honestly, fuente baby, fuente!

Imo cask is majority of it. Equally as important as not f cking up the new make

these super old glenronachs are imo blended perfectly, to the point where it is at a fault imo anyway. the single barrel stuff is great i reckon sub 25yo anymore it is just too f cking cherried and shit gets lost in it but the Grandeurs are exciting. i think you have a goodie there! they blend them well in this iteration, like flagship really.
