Very interesting amp, so I've just scored one of these amps but the cab is in pretty rough condition but that doesn't bother me. Nice grind and output for sure. Thanks for posting.
Im glad you showed also clean side and that gorgeous reverb. Many people just skip the reverb for some reason, but its sooo nice and its not that overpowering as Fender style reverbs often are.
Might be good as a slide. But jesus you think their choice of for a scratch plate might have been a bit more subtle, not a good aesthetic choice imo. Might look better without it
Love those brandonwounds. I have their PAF's in one of my LP's. Ordered a set of t-tops for my 78' Custom fireburst. Haven't installed them yet. Will be plugging into a JTM50.
Most underrated amp. I’ve had V4’s and a V2 since 1974. Everyone complains about it being so heavy. I always ask them “are you gonna carry it or play through it” V4 was too loud after breaking up so I would pull two of the four power tubes that effectively cut the power to 50-60 watts. It would also make the remaining tubes run hotter getting a killer tone without being too loud. Played clubs regularly for years without any damage to the amp. Also ran it through two 15” coffee can Electro Voice SRO’s. What a tone monster. Still have the V2 head and waiting to get it re capped before I use again. Thank for the video.
Nice playing! So, I just got one from 1966. Some intonation issues. Might need to adjust the nit slots. Are those hipshot tuners? If so, did you have to drill new holes or was it a drop in mod? Thanks!
I play “bass guitar “ lemmy/cliff Rickenbacker 4003 been looking at these and really liking them might pull the trigger and they take pedals very nicely
With this amp the cab it’s paired with really has a huge effect on its performance. I have one I ran into an 8x10 and it absolutely shook the foundation with the volume on two. Try starting with the midrange volume and then bringing the bass up to suit the room. Maybe it needs a good servicing
@@ampaddicts4102 I agree that and 810 cab would probably "work" volume wise, but w/o the deep low end that I love. Whereas a 300 watt gives me everything in spades.
@@bflo1000 I recommend running a EQ pedal in front and mic'ing for cleans with an efficient cab. I too have a V4 dist model and I found the bottom end to be punchy and flat and not as round with a lot of creamy distortion in the mids and highs. Great amp for rock but can be hard to EQ for a basic bass tone.
@@MrRawnch Mine was great unless used in a band setting when I had to crank the thing. Mine was biased by an amp making engineer for 6550's, which gave it more headroom, along w a MV, but that still wasn't enough. Then I got a used 300 Bugera BV3000, which of course was more than enough for anything. It had the thick low end that I love even when I was using more gain. Great amp, which was cheaper than the V4.
I have this exact model with the grey paint….55’ I believe. Had it serviced but the bass and treble pots have little effect on tone….does your eq have a significant effect on your tone? Do you have the original gold 8” alnicos? They had been mined or changed but I got it for a song so no complaints. Trying to find the right speaker as this amp is a bit dark. That LP sounds great through it. Did you change the input resistor’s as I think it was made for accordions ….not positive on that. Cheers!
@@robosenton1623 Happy new year! Very cool and I've heard about that company. Where can I buy that clone amp? Sounds great and the speaker sounds like a G12-65 I have.
@@robosenton1623 I disagree. I have had a 1965 450 since 1974. It is indeed a small guitar. Further, the neck is so narrow. Mr. Osenton has much skinnier and longer fingers than my sausage fingers. I cannot emphasize this enough: The neck is very narrow. Playing lead sounds very thin and tinny.
So we’re the designer to work with both bass and guitar?

Magic sounds <3 <3 <3

Is the bottom right silver top still available?
All of these sold, but if you’re interested I have some more that I could fix up

That’s some chops right there!
These are not cheap

Huh, no automatic tuner? 😜
Do you build guitars as well?

Nice texture to thar grit. May I ask what transformers you installed?
Top gear, unique and distinguished, modern gear can’t quite emulate it

Sucks
Any pedals? Or straight in? And is it the distortion model?
distortion models have black silver-topped knobs; this knob style indicates earlier runs of the model pre-distortion knob
I own a V4- The tone is so versatile that no pedals are required w/ a decent guitar
Could you give some infos on the specs? :)
Just found out about this last night honestly one of the greastest sounding amps imo. Thanks for posting!
I have a dist model V4 moddedd w a MV and 6550 for more HR. It still isn't enough HR for gigging. I get so much dirt that it kills my low end.

Brandonwound TTop bridge and a rewind neck pickup

What speakers are you running with this? Sounds really good! I love these amps
Do you fix Maestro EP3 echoplexes?
Sounds like Ted Nugent stopped by. I have one of these and it's dangerous.
Just about to buy one, they sound so rabid I love it.
Hey there, cool demo, thanks! Is this guitar really small/smaller, or does it only look that way? Thanks! Pat.
I’m 6 feet tall 180lbs. It’s a full size guitar but they do feel small

Which Marshall 18 watt? Sounds great! Would like to know more about it please.
it's amazing how good that amp still sounds old
