Went there in July and it was the worst resort ever! Needs tons of renovations fire alarms would go off randomly in the middle of the night! When we got to our room it was dirty and the refrigerator had bottles of sodas that were half empty. There were cracks all over the walls it was a mess!

Hello! There are a couple of short questions, I would appreciate it if you would answer them. 1) What exactly is included in their all-inclusive system? 2) which restaurants are included in the ala-card system (i.e. for which you do not have to pay extra)? 3) I'm afraid to even ask how much does a regular beach lounger with an umbrella cost?

I stayed there in May 2024 and will be back in January 2025 because we loved the resort.

So, this is one of the WORST resorts in Cabo! Dated and desperately in need of remodeling and fresh paint. Remove the phone intercom from the bathroom and make sure the workers adjust the picture on the 2nd floor next to the elevator which hung crooked for most of our trip until I adjusted it. We were not informed that the restaurants were closed due to a destination wedding: no signs posted at all! On the morning of our departure, the water stopped running which prevented me from showering after I worked out. We were told “10 minutes” each time we called. Absolute must miss. Would give them zero stars. Food was mediocre at best. Aly doesn’t know what she’s talking about!

The drinks are good. The customer service is wack. The buffet staff are hardworking and nice. The hotel is 3* not 5*.

Went there in April. It sucked. Horrible beach, horrible food, staff was pleasant enough, but it was anything but luxury. Don't waste your money.

Management and staff should be fired just for their totally unacceptable and insulting mistreatment of guests. For example: Staff offer drugs to resort guests. Staff leer at young guests. They make highly inappropriate, unsolicited, suggestive comments to them. Staff cannot be trusted. Your belongings are not safe in the room or anywhere on the resort. Staff lie to guests about the availability of goods or services. One provides something to a guest on a given day, and the very next day another in the exact same place lies to the guest claiming they don't offer that. Staff are blatantly racist towards guests. They will do something for a guest of one skin color, and refuse to do the exact same thing for a guest of another skin color. Staff are extremely rude, disrespectful, lazy, and incompetent. They seek any excuse they can find to avoid working. Staff are deliberately mean to guests of certain skin colors, determined to make their stay as unpleasant as possible. They do not even come close to actually earning whatever they are paid. If this is what Bahia Principe "resorts" are like then the whole chain should be avoided. You will get a much superior, more memorable experience, and a lot more for your money at a resort run by many of their competitors.

Do not waste your money going here. [1/5] Not what you see advertised. AI reviews on Google be warned. Excellence El Carmen wasn't up to their advertised standards. This is a statement I would make even if my wife and I didn't go home early from our honeymoon with food poisoning. Beware the overwhelmingly positive reviews on Google make no sense if you read them. At worst: Vacationing here has a high chance of getting you sick. Not just upset stomach sick, but getting no sleep because of the constant throwing up, aches and diarrhea. The resort will not refund you for any unused portions of your stay. No matter what is promised to you, you will never see a refund. So you will have to choose between staying and eating the food that almost put you in a Punta Cana hospital, or leaving and never seeing the money again. There are several others with similar experiences recently, and throughout the years. They are all correct. If you're planning your vacation here, understand there is a higher than you think percent chance you get sick. At best: The beach will be nice to lay out at and the water will be clear, but you will get solicited by strangers on the beach. They are nice and will not bother you if you say no, but they will not stop coming. The weather is amazing if you're from the Northeast US like me, but it will rain for several hours each day without fail if you're going most months of the year. While you're inside waiting for the rain to go, you can check out the mold-smelling so-so quality rooms, sample the food that might make you sick (there are lots of options), drink, or even check out the sports bar. The sports bar has a row of TVs that play the same illegal streaming sites I could access from my couch, with matching quality. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL. SOMEONE WENT TO THE ROOM AND BROKE THE SAFEBOX AND STOLE OUR CASH AND CREDIT CARDS. WE REPORTED TO THE MANAGER/DIRECTOR , LAURA BUT DIDN'T SEEM LIKE SHE CARE. SHE TOLD US THAT THEY WOULD GIVE AN UPDATE BY THE END OF THE TRIP BUT LAURA NEVER GOT BACK TO US. ALSO THEIR ROOMS IS RUN DOWN, MOST OF THE THINGS ARE BROKEN AND IT SMELLED LIKE ROTTEN FISH.

We loved everything about this resort except for the food. The food was actually pretty gross. However, it's a $33 taxi ride to Playa Del Carmen. We went there a handful of times throughout the trip for dinner which was a nice alternative. Everything else said in this video I agree with
