Three weeks ago, Norwich City dismissed David Wagner from his role as head coach. Ben Knapper has since appointed Johannes Hoff Thorup, as the the club looks to go in a new direction.
The first summer signing arrived this week in the shape of Jose Cordoba, but who will be next to follow him through the Colney gates?
As the Danish revolution begins, Connor Southwell, Adam Harvey, Paddy Davitt and Sam Seaman took a trip to the Prince of Denmark pub in Norwich to assess the summer thus far and what's ahead before pre-season begins in July.

Danish football fan here. I think the reason the Danish media was calling him Hoff Thorup instead of just Thorup, is because there's another high profile Danish manager named Jess Thorup (currently managing Augsburg in Germany), and either Hoff Thorup himself or the media wanted to differenciate the two. The pronounciation of Thorup is with a silent H, so therefore it becomes Torup.
Hero. Thank you 🇩🇰 💛
Good points boys, feeling very positive. (Thorup) 4 up at half time.😉
A greetings from Panamá City Pty 507, Latinamerica, I'm JOSÉ "COTO" CORDOBA FANS.😊❤😊
Love the banter and the pub setting.
We have to keep the faith ⚽️😀 sam knows what he is talking about ben can relax now he has done his job what is mark anatasio going to do will he invest more money?
Good pub for people barred from The Whalebone, busy on a Tuesday for some reason
Is there any word on adam idah? I agree with adam its hard to tell
Connor keep up the good work with the podcasts
Man Utd reportedly has 1000 staff and new ownership will see a cull. How many staff do Norwich have because they pay a lot of attention to off field details.
I reckon just bring back Dave Stringer to sort em all out and keep the kitman
Ask Steeno
Need a pub tour for the summer pink un pods!!!!
Roight ! Were you deliberately trying to choose a semi rough pub on the edge of the Mile Cross for some Pink Un Street Cred, or is Paddy just running his "import/export" operation from Cambs to Norfolk from there? ;-) Fleet Street is NOT Amused ! Footballwise, Hoff won''t hoof or huff. He'll keep you mardlin tho !
what a poetic comment
Let’s hope the Hoff earns himself a mural on the Prince Of Denmark
Didn't realise Walsall was in a different time zone. Good idea getting participants from other clubs.
Brilliant player
Really incredible insight, detailed and well thought out
Good update on the player. My son is a city season ticket holder, and he's excited about this signing as he brought him on FM lol and said it was one of the best signings he made on there, so hopefully, it will be the same in reality 💛💚
This journalist speaks better English than most of Norfolk ! ;-)
Zdrasti Levski ❤
Welcome José 💛💚 OTBC
From his youtube highlights he looks like a poor mans Kevin Francis 😬
Greetings from Panama , make sure that at least 2 million football fans will be following him
Love to Panama ❤ One exchange visit coming up...if you fancy it? Siempre! 💛💚
@@waynejohnson1075 Would love to visit the stadium ... I hope our compatriot does a good job in Norwich.
Looking forward to seeing him play
Mmmmmm. Sounds like a bit of a donkey.
What position does he play? Is he a centre back or a left back or both?
The guy said in the video CB
I think he will give us confidence and he will help us in the defensive
I'm not sure that Buendia counts as cashing in. The money we would've gained by staying up with him in the side would've ben triple what we got for him. Another good example is the Murphy twins, or Maddison. Under Webber we pretty much always undersold our talent. I'd rather we just kept the players than sell them for some of the tiny prices being banded about.
All the best for the future, Yellows!!!
Still feel sorry for wagner.when he had full strength side from January onwards he pretty much did do what the board demanded and got us to the playoffs
But to me that shows it was more about the players and not his tactics.
I'm from Denmark and have watched all of FC Nordsjællands matches under Johannes Hoff Thorup (the H in Thorup is silent by the way). As a manager, he seems very determined and his players describe him as a perfectionist. His tactical style seems very clear to the players. It's possession based where the goalkeeper always passes to the defenders to build up the play. His team has been known for creating a lot of chances, and playing a quick tempo. Occasionally his team has been destroying other teams with results like 6-0 and 7-0 - even in the Conference League this season. This happens when the opponent team thinks they can "just play their own game" and don't try to counter Thorups effective tactics. Thorup's strength seems to be getting the maximum potential out of his players. It's tough to guess how well he will do in Norwich, because FC Nordsjælland is structured as a talent factory, and even their pitch is artificial, meaning it has helped them play a quicker tempo - which has benefitted all the quick young players they have. I think he will be a success in Norwich if the players commit 100% to his style and tactics, but it might take a while before the sucess comes, because I don't think his tactics can be learned 100% within a preseason. His assistent Glen Riddersholm, famous doing a photoshoot after winning the Danish championship posing in a gold suit with a cigar in the mouth, is a very experienced manager. Just like Thorup, he is known for getting the maximum potential out of young players. His personality seems different to Thorup's, he's often showing much more emotion than Thorup, which I think might make the two a really good match where they can compliment each other. It's going to be interesting to watch Norwich's games this season.
As always enjoyed this! Thanks lads
We must keep the midfield and forward line, but rebuild the defense
Agreed
Have to sign a cdm
What happens if norwich do sell Rowe, sergeant, and Sara.
Won’t be a instant fix!
sell long hes not good enough just my opinion
If we want to do this we need at last 5 new players Center backs, midfielders and wide attacker.
I almost think a dip into a past player “obviously with more favorable terms this time” would be Mathias Normann he feels a better fit with how we hope to design the team now and if we could make it a permanent move rather than loan. I’ve seen “possible” conversations between him and fans asking about a return to Norwich and he seemed “if it was him” like he wanted the move…?. I’d like to hear Connor’s thoughts on this as a potential move?.
Get your money out Delia and buy some actual decent talent that will get us promoted next season ffs.. none of this free transfer BS. We need quality International Team level players.
Won’t happen mate she’s too greedy. We need better owners
@@Conn458 I thought I heard rumours that she was no longer shareholder
Make Sara captain if he stays
No, make him king!
Really hope that the Nordsjaelland model is going to be the future direction for us
Is it a good idea to tell the rest of the Championship how you intend to play ?
What analysis do you think the other championship teams are doing
Because opposition managers are going to rely on a newspaper reporter for their tactics.🙄
Hope this signing primarily excites our top players for the project 🤞as well as attract the next wave of top players to support them.
Can’t see many of the top players staying unfortunately. Sara is 99% gone imo. Rowe is very likely to leave too. Sargent if enough interest will be gone. Could even see Gunn, Sainz, Nunez leaving if offered are good enough. A real shame because this current squad with a possession based attacking manager and a bit more youth could be brilliant
Aren't we just going back to farke years? Or burnley from last season. It's all fun when you're dominating teams in the championship. But a possession possession possession approach will never survive in the Premier league. You're not going to get enough of the ball. You need an approach that works with only 30-40%.
Not all possession based styles are equal. I hear you on the troubles with possession based football in terms of a transition to the premier league. The amount of times we would look good for 5 minutes in the Farke prem years, but then the first long ball signaled the surrendering of trying to keep the ball and effect the game that way. Fingers crossed this will be different and they are already thinking about how realistically you can translate a way of winning from the Championship to the Prem; in terms of style and personnel
@@sunbry3766 agreed. We can but hope
worry about that if we go up
@@tomives3298 Of course. I'm just saying that, if we're starting a whole new 5 year project around a new squad and a new style, there's no point, as with Farke, in embedding a play style that won't accomplish where you want to be in 3 years.
The simple reality is that we NEED to get back into the premiership ASAP. The parachute payments are gone and the club need that premier league money. If playing a particular way gets us up then we just have to go for it and if we get relegated, so be it.
Taking you into League One for sure.
Yeah Boi, Bring it on!
I am concerned that he's only coached at one club. Its a big red flag for me. Where has he got his ideas of playing from?
We're going up, going up, Johannes Hoff Thorup
I like this decision a lot
Hopefully stop playing out from the keeper everytime. Especially in the 93rd minute when we are 1-0 down.
People talk about his lack of of experience in the championship, but Daniel Farke was equally inexperienced
