That's good, but use FSK tape that is within date to seal it to the sheet rock from the register side. Makes for a very tight seal. -FSK NOT Foil tape though. Silicone tends to get brittle after a years and separate with all the heat cool cycles. FSK tape that is correctly applied "Should" last for at least 50 years.
The drain plugs not only need to be removed from the down facing side, they need to be INSTALLED in the upward facing side.
I’ve been on no cool calls and found motors with the plug left in…. Not removing the plug definitely shortens the life of the motor
These motors can in fact be lubricated. Disassembly is simple with 4 screws. You have to file the burr off the shaft where the set screw was tightened if the fan has more than 1 set screw.
Now, I'm gonna have to get my hands on an old one and see how hard it would be to rebuild in the shop. Just because you said I can't... yes I know I have a problem. Lol
Haha I’m sure given enough effort lol. Beyond my pay grade
So those screws on the plate around the drive shaft.. if you open it could you potentially lube it up if you really wanted to?
The shaft throws it out of balance........right.
Nice video. Leaving the fan feature on central air units and window ac’s help with condensation and mold build up correct?
You’d be out of the job if everyone was installed correctly man…
Love the company name. You must be prior service, Navy or Air Force.
If it's 410A really ought to braze it. I'm not opposed to soldering r22 though. It's the difference in pressure. 410a liquid line pressure really puts solder to the test. I've watched liquid line solder joints fail 🤷🏽♂️
Jut how do i turn the damn fan off. Despite the heat/cool being set to off, the fan still runs. I just want to turn the fan off.
Wrong type filter wrong location for filter, and wrong size filter. Classic. The best is when you get there and the bag is still on the filter…
Every HVAC tech I know would just walk away while saying "get a mold specialist" Useless
What size core bits do you use? For a 4” galvanized duct would I need a 4” core bit or a 4 1/4? Not sure the exact ID or OD of the duct work and I’m not having any luck finding it online. Thanks
I had HVAC technicians do “tune ups” every 6 months. They NEVER told me about the mold in our AC unit. Our supply plenum was covered in mold. *OUR HEALTH HAS SUFFERED AND THE HVAC COMPANIES DO NOT CARE* We now suffer from Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS).
I have dryer lent all over my small house. I have a dryer that is about 6-8 feet to the right of the wall vent. The wall vent is antiquated, has never been updated, and the dryer delivery guys 😞 played me shady and NEVER connected the dryer to the vent correctly. The ventilation would have to be ascending, AND angled and widened. Could you recommend anyone in my area that would be willing to do the job? My luck with repairmen and servicemen being honest and thorough has been hit or miss...with the misses outnumbering the hits 😒
If it is so bad then why would one of the very best AC unit brands us those coils? Every unit is going to get dirt in the outside coil.
Nice work. I like that idea.
Thank you, great explanation!
I turned the thermostat off, but my fan is still running. I'm not sure why. I don't know what to do, please help
Same. Very annoying. Guess it's a way to just increase electricity bills a bit
@@MainMann820 Yes! I had no choice but to shut it off from the boiler room and turn it back on. That worked, but it happened again today. I tried to do the same thing, but it didn't work. I'm getting a technician tomorrow to see what is going on most likely is the thermostat not communicating with the system
Good info. in Minnesota, the guy who installed my furnace told me to leave the fan on all the time, especially during the winter. My duct work was in between my floors. Now I'm living in Florida. My duct work is in my attic and there is a lot more humidity down here. Makes sense to leave it on auto then. Thanks for the information.
Who’s gonna be running into it? It’s in the attic come on
How much does it cost to replace the outdoor PCB if it fails?
I hate flare connections
Carrier also makes an inverter heat pump unit, the infinity series
The metal is fiberglass in the inside too..the only difference it has metal on outside....so it's not as flimsy....but same thing just metal last longer!!!
The metal does not have fiberglass on the inside, I live in Utah and it’s not common but sometimes people will use duct board to line their return duct to quiet it down a bit but I agree duct board is horrible you should be wrapping the outer piping not the inside.
Yep metal easy to maintain.
I've seen metal plenums with Fibreglass insulation or ductboard lined on the inside
We concrete in Argentina and pour our ductwork
OMG I'M CRYING! MY HVAC SYSTEM LOOKS HIDEOUS ALSO ILK ILK! IM CRYING BECAUSE? ****MY HOUSE (as I type) has Supposedly been treated for MOLD? However? The HVAC SYSTEM HAD/ HAS MOLD RUNNING THRU OUT IT AND MY TENANTS OF 6 YRS OF BREATHING THE MOLD ARE NOW 😫 SICK ouch! IM SO SORRY! I TRIED RELENTLESSLY TO FIX THE MANY PLUMBING AND FLOODING PROBLEMS THAT OCCURRED OVER THE MANY YEARS! HOWEVER? I ***UNINTENTIONALLY NEGLECTED CHECKING MY HVAC SYSTEM AFTERWARDS OMG HOLY MOTHER OF JESUS!****I DESPERATELY NEED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE SYSTEM AS I'VE RECENTLY REPLACED ALL MY WATER/PLUMBING TUBINGS Supposedly ugh! OMG ILK ILK!
I have two of these heat pumps and they operate great. they blow plenty of hot air set to 70 degrees with outdoor temps in the 20s
I also like the white noise being always on, vs constantly turning on/ off. And it helps muffle conversations between rooms when guests are staying over. This may sound crazy but I hate sleeping at someone's house and their fan is off 😅
Agreed about maintenance. However, most if not all the HVAC guys I personally know that work for different companies say the "maintenance" their jobs have them do is usually a visual inspection & if anything looks out of the ordinary then to reccomend a replacement not to repair & or maintain..... & with all the greety companies in this world how can a consumer actually know if their HVAC tech actually did any maintenance without being right over their shoulder watching & asking questions? I would assume this makes the tech anxious & or annoyed because they have someone breathing down their necks.. simple answer would be to learn it yourself & maintain your own equipment.
Straight facts. This is why I learned the trade cause you can’t trust anyone anymore
Homeowners: That is your blower motor forcing air into your supply ducts. All the air being blown onto you comes into contact with that black mold. Maintenance is key. Techs: Ingersoll Rand seems to have created a plastic magnet. At least the tam9’s are black. Stainless steel ftw
We have one three ton unit and a 2 ton unit and they're both terrible for heating the house. They goi into continuous mode and they just constantly blow cold air on you and there's really no way to turn it off except to get up turn it on and off yourself. These things are actually worse than the heat pumps my dad had 30 years ago. Absolutely do not get a continuous mode heat pump for heating, you will regret it unless you just run it at 80 degrees all the time and then you're not really using the heat pump and you won't save any money or energy.
You must have some cheap stuff. Mitsubishi has some that provide 100% capacity at -15 degrees. Heat pumps are the way to go in 2024
They don't make autofocus cameras like they used to.
😂 sorry
Turn your phone for landscape view.
Basically there literally is no parts to break in an old furnace. There’s like 3 parts in an old furnace and they all cost under $150. Newer furnaces are much safer and efficient but don’t last as long because they simply can’t because theirs more parts in them so therefore more parts to break.
Nice video bud.
very cute, thanks for your digits
When he taps the thermostat he gives me a middle finger
😂
If you have fan on, does the AC stop sending heat after reaching the desired temperature?
Literally 85% of Trane blowers are like this. I see it almost everytime I work on a Trane, that blower housing is the problem. Im talking from 3 years old to 15 years old. Its wild, better off with a Goodman
Hell yeah Zac Efron
Let me come spray it!!!
Yup I have this shit in mine and my slum lord doesn’t want to fix it and says it’s normal by the water. And said he would fix it if I move .....like wtf AH!
Me too I just moved here 2 months and been sick 6 weeks found mold in my ac, get a home test kit send it to the lab for 40 and take the results to the health department my slum lord laughed at me but the city knows it’s no joke
The wall next to the air conditioner unit got all moldy the sheet rock you got the air conditioner unit you got sheet rock wall on the back of that sheet rock was mold. Crazy I’ve never seen anything like it so no the whole air conditioner unit is getting yanked out new sheet rock.
How do turn the fan off?
You would just use the auto feature. To turn everything off, you can just turn the thermostat to the off position. The fan has to run while a heating or cooling cycle is occurring.
my thermostat is off but the fan is still running at times@@airsupportky
@@albertptransame here any fixes to this?
@@Jarrettj1115 nope except using one of those magnetic vent covers, think i can find one at the local hardware store. Fan blowing in wintertime makes the house feel so cold

My electric water heater doesn't have a vent on it. This is good advice. I'm going to drill a hole in the top and connect it to my chimney this afternoon. Thank you!
How did you test for black mold?
Eric, I have used a mini split system for heating and I'm happy with the cost savings but it's not comfortable. Hoping someone like you can be on the front lines of air to water in the future. I love the idea of using my baseboards again, even if its just supplemental. Looking forward to your future videos
