The statue is a supposed image of the goddess of Kentucky. It is oppressive to me as a Christian to see my state Capitol Building given over so completely to idol worship. My question is how could it be worse to go into a church with no images, than to visit a state building which is given over wholly to idols, both in statuary and paintings, which horrifies Christians.

Not that I expect to be believed but man has failed to prevent the return of the messiah 213,465 times in a row over 29,458,170+ years, and the last time was in the late 1800s. If you believe that you belong to a lineage that delegates the harvest to the world it's an illusion. It's a test, to see what you will really do to or for your brothers and sisters. If you are forbidden from warning the world of their doom or attempting to prevent it then you become complicit in the betrayal of the world--and that's okay because it's not you, right? It will be you too because you did not value your family for your own gains, you will have sold the world out instead of seeking to defend your greater family. If you would sacrifice your family for yourself then how should God respect you? Do you really believe that you will be rewarded? Instead of asking how you can sacrifice your reward only to be destroyed with the world for trying to save it, ask yourself how could you sacrifice your own family? I met the most high after renouncing my Christian faith, I was told that the thing in life that matters above all else, is how we treat each other. If the messiah comes we don't get another chance. It is my personal opinion that religions are a series of tests where we are intentionally placed in err and must understand the specific points on which we are required to challenge or question God in order to pass, and God can't tell us that we are to challenge him and instead must make us afraid to do such a thing otherwise we are not truly being tested nor are we exercising discernment. It is also my opinion that Jews may have the most challenging of tests of all the religions because you are taught that you are the chosen people. It is easy to be content as the chosen ones and look down on the goyim with pity or contempt, and goyim are forbidden to learn as you are forbidden to teach, as if to say that the goyim would indeed be equal to the Jews if they were taught, however, they are forbidden from being equal--why? Because God commanded it and it is not our place to object. Jews do not imagine being goyim, perfectly capable human beings not less and not more than Jews, created by God just the same but shunned--why? Maybe that is your test. We are you, your brothers and sisters, but you do not care why we are forbidden from being accepted so long as it is not you. You remain uninfluenced by objective perspectives because you are forbidden. If you are unable to find a difference to justify shunning your brothers and sisters and seek to maintain superiority instead of seeking to empower and enlighten us then perhaps you are unwittingly succumbing to a trap--I'll explain.. I don't know if it is true, but I heard a rabbi suggesting that a prophecy of the end days says two-thirds of the world's population will be destroyed in a war or cataclysm and only a third will remain. I believe there is a hidden meaning behind this number, and what it is really saying is that no population will remain, and the third that remain are not a third of the humans, it is secretly saying that "the third" will remain. The third is referring to Satan and the third of the angels. I believe we are being told in our respective religions that if we fail to prevent coming of the messiah then we will be harvested in horrific fashion and a new crop will be given a chance to succeed where we had failed. In Christianity fulfillment of the prophecy means that not one soul will meet God, and any who are presently residing with him peacefully will actually be redacted from the Afterlife and succumb to damnation with the rest of the world. For the Bible prophecy to be fulfilled is a guaranteed indiscriminate damnation and "the third" is mentioned with the destruction of many things in the end times, but I understand that it means all men will be destroyed when it says "the third of men will be destroyed". The physical universe (including us) is composed of "the third" and it is they who have ultimate authority, and in "the twinkling of an eye" our freedom to part from the physical domain can be revoked. Rev 9:6 seems to allude to a weapon that prevents physical death from being possible while simultaneously torturing its victims, but it is merely another metaphor to represent "the third" and the consequence of their manifestation. I wouldn't be surprised if all of the major doctrines containing prophecies foretell this damnation in a disguised and encoded manner to give us a chance for an awakening. The New Testament guarantees damnation, but every church teaches that it speaks of salvation--the exact opposite of what is very clearly described. Judaism came before Christianity, and yet Christianity may have the key to Judaism. God works in mysterious ways and our history may be nothing close to what we believe. We are all in this together. I appreciate that you suggested the notion of enlightening goyim, we are not different. I understand that no Jew wishes to jeopardize their special place with God, and maybe that is the only thing that threatens your relationship. If you respect life and God's creations truly then you would respect them whether or not God tells you, but to only care about your distant brothers and sisters if you are commanded tells God that you may not know love. Its amazing to me that if someone just says this stuff off the cuff everyone can see they are delusional, but if you have an old book to base your delusions off you can be a respected religious leader. Only religion could convince a person that there is a divine creator who made humans such that one group must "go down" for another to "go up". The way you describe god reminds me of those people who take different types of bugs and make them fight in a glass tank to record it for their entertainment. You describe a very sadistic god. If I was given the option between being never existing and having to "bring down" my fellow man for reward I think I would opt for former. Also, people don't "make up their own morality". It is informed by empathy and mutual benefit. I think most people would agree that a drive to reduce the overall suffering of all humans, and indeed of all sentient creatures is a good one. That is, unless your natural tendencies have been overridden by thousand year old shared delusion.
