zhlédnutí 609Před 2 lety

Ask Frost King: Can I Install a Window Kit on the Outside of My House?
zhlédnutí 2,4KPřed 2 lety
Can I install a window kit on the exterior of my house on the outside of the window? The answer is yes, you can install window kits on the exterior of your house, but make sure you use a heavy-duty window kit. A Standard regular edition one will not work for exterior use. zhlédnutí 474Před 2 lety

Ask Frost King: Do I Need to Wait for the Expanding Foam Tape to Expand?
zhlédnutí 3,1KPřed 2 lety
Do I need to wait for the expandable foam tape to fully expand before I install it? No, you don't need to wait for the tape to fully expand before installing it. However, if it does expand, that's not a problem. The tape compresses and expands as needed throughout the entire process. So whether that's thin off the roll or thick and expand it already, you'll be able to still install it and work ...
Ask Frost King: Do I Need All Sides of the Foam Tape Exposed to Air for it to Begin Expanding?
zhlédnutí 383Před 2 lety
Do I need to have all sides of the foam tape exposed to the air for it to begin expanding? The answer is no. As long as the side opposite the adhesive is exposed to air, the product will still expand upwards. The sides can be completely covered in a tight wedge or groove, and you'll still get the benefits of expanding foam.
Ask Frost King: Do I Need to Add Anything to Make The Expanding Foam Tape Start Expanding?
zhlédnutí 353Před 2 lety
Do I need to add or do anything to make the foam tape start expanding? The answer is no, expandable foam tape only requires air to start expanding, so once the plastic has been removed, you'll start to see the tape grow right in front of your eyes.

Ask Frost King: What Size Heat Cable Kit Should I Buy?
zhlédnutí 428Před 2 lety
How do I know what size heat cable kit to buy for my house? Well, before you go to the store first measure and see how much exposed pipe you have, once you realize how much you have, then decide how much you want to buy. They come in increments of three, six, nine, twelve, and upwards in terms of feet, and you can get as much as you need.
Ask Frost King: What Kind of Tape Should I Use?
zhlédnutí 1KPřed 2 lety
What kind of tape can I use to help hold the Heat Tape to the pipes? The most important thing is to not use masking tape. Any high quality electrical tape will work as long as is rated for one hundred and seventy-six degrees at six-inch intervals. Masking tape just won't cut it and is not strong enough for this job.

I like the products, but your youtube page is horrendous. Also, your products are not as easy to fully understand with the instructions provided. Gotta do a bit better in those parts of your business. Most likely your wont even read this comment.

FYI - This product does not fit a Thurma Tru door frame kerf. It is too wide and deep to slide in. It took 2 plus hours, three videos including this one, and pressing the gasket in with a regular screw driver, then a wood block and hammer, and lastly at the recommendation of the final video, a crow bar, to discover the size was the issue. Hope this saves someone some time.

I hear the opposite. If I keep my heat tape plugged in,especially in July and August,it can overheat and cause a fire or atleast melt.In addition, and besides the extra cost and waste of electricity, the life span of the tape must be less, compared to unplugging it about 6 months out of the year when warmer. The problem I have it that my heat tape in under my mobile home and not easy to reach.I have to crawl over water pipes in a tight area, dodge wolf spiders and more.I can call an electrician to relocate the socket, but then, its a good bet that will cost me several hundered dollars to do so.My heat tape has no thermostat.I bought one and tried it,but did not like the way it worked, because it only came on at 30-32 degrees.Too close for comfort, before my water meter and pipe would freeze.I already replaced a water meter due to a freezing meter or pipe and it was 300 dollars.

NOTE: just cuz the power indicator light is ON, does not mean the cable is working....test between 2 ziplock bags of ice before installing to save you a lot of time & hassle..... this video is about as useless as my Frost King heat cable which I did NOT test before installing - not only did my pipes burst but I had to crawl under the house, fix the pipes, tear out what I had installed, go to the store, buy a different brand, crawl under the house reinstall...a waste of 2 days not to mention I couldn't get my money back at HomeDepot. A useless product & a bad experience.
