I agree with Siskel. I mostly enjoyed it at the time but it has unrealistic elements also. I think his review is on target.
Killed by a murderer, lol
This is a classic example of how Siskel reviewed movies. He looks at a perfectly good movie and pans it because "Selleck is too tall" and "his goatee is pasted on." Sometimes he just had the most petty reasons to dislike a film. I'm glad Ebert defended the film even if he still wouldn't give it thumbs up. Selleck was born to play a cowboy gunslinger and San Giacomo gives a great performance as Crazy Cora (her monologue about killing her baby was extremely affecting). I'm glad Quigley Down Under eventually found a fanbase, because it's a quality film.

When this movie was new , , , I loved the "ACE VENTURA" but when I went to see Dumb and Dumber ( at a former friend's suggestion ) 12 minutes into the Movie I walked out of the Theater , , , then talked to usher about how much I hate that movie after 12 wasted mins of it and he directed me to a better movie that was also starting ""Star Trek Generations"" my mind was soooo thankful for that 😮🎉🎉😂
