How to make another Wooden Clock
zhlédnutí 1KPřed 10 měsíci
A few years ago I made a clock from some really cheap clock movements and it was OK I thought it might be nice to make one that had actual time indications, and so I did. I started off by gluing some scrap of walnut into a bigger slab. I then cleaned up the edges on the table saw leaving some room for final dimensions later. My clock arms were about 80mm long, giving me a diameter of 160mm. I a...
Making a Tangram Hexiamond Puzzle
zhlédnutí 1,4KPřed rokem
I was at a local bookstore and saw some wooden puzzles on my way out and the Tangram Hexiamond puzzle caught my eye. Each piece can be made of up 6 equilateral triangles, and consists of 12 pieces all unique with their own names. The bar, crook, crown, sphinx, snake, yacht, chevron, signpost, lobster, hook, hexagon, and butterfly. After drawing the shapes I looked for repetitive shapes that wou...
How to make a Bullroarer
zhlédnutí 7KPřed rokem
When I was a kid, I saw spinning some contraption above his head that sounded like an aeroplane taking off. The bullroarer, rhombus, or turndun, is an ancient ritual musical instrument and a device historically used for communicating over great distances. It consists of a piece of wood attached to a string, which when swung in a large circle produces a roaring vibrato sound. - Wikipedia: en.wik...
Modern Wooden Pencil Tray
zhlédnutí 2,6KPřed rokem
I wanted to make something that would feature a nice pen or pencil on a desk, so I settled on a tray with a nice concave dish to it. After processing some scrap walnut to 48mm x 28mm or 1 7/8" x 1 1/8" keeping in mind that the router bit needs to fit within the width plus a little extra. So adjust as needed. I used the edge of my bench and some box tubing as a guide spaced exactly as wide as my...
How to make toy Block Pets
zhlédnutí 7KPřed 2 lety
I found some simple animal blocks on Pinterest, so I made a few :) This is an awesome project to use up your small scraps of wood! I used the band saw to cut little toes and noses. Drill bits for the eyes. I created the ears by using my band saw and just cutting in angles that I thought looked good for the cats. The dog's ears since they are typically floppy were glued onto the side of its head...
How to make Wooden Toy Robot
zhlédnutí 20KPřed 2 lety
A couple of years ago I kept seeing little block robots and wanted to make some for my kids, nieces, and nephews. They are simple builds really only needing a drill and a saw, some CA glue and paracord. Use your creativity to determine the size of the hands, feet, head, and body. I chose to give the robot a mouth using the table saw and countersunk some eyes. In the thumbnail shot I used a 5/8t...

A while back I was on the local news channel as someone who turned trash into treasure. While I don't know how many treasures I have made. I do like trash with treasures in it! An elderly woman contacted me and said that I could have whatever tools were left in her basement that belonged to her late husband. I was beyond excited, I called a friend of mine and we took a trip. The short version o...
How to make a 4 Piece Soma Cube Puzzle
zhlédnutí 7KPřed 2 lety
I built this puzzle from a disassembled photo of it. That meant that I had to solve the puzzle after building it in order to know if the pieces were correctly arranged. For this project we will need: 6 1x1 blocks 6 2x1 blocks 3 3x1 blocks And while not necessary, a crosscut sled will really help with the repeatable cuts. I started off by squaring up cherry scraps, I aimed for it to be around 20...
Custom Cribbage Board - With Rockler Jig
zhlédnutí 11KPřed 2 lety
Cribbage is one of those "old people" games that I never gave much thought about playing... That is until I actually played it, and surprise surprise, it's a very fun game! I had this gnarly scrap chunk of rough walnut that was the perfect size and destined to become a board. When it comes to making the board there isn't really that much to it, it's obviously a lot of holes in a piece of wood. ...
How to make a Pizza Peel from scrap wood

With spring in full swing, there is nothing better than a nice homemade pizza. I actually made this Pizza Peel over a year ago when the pandemic hit and was unemployed. I took to watching a lot of videos from Adam Ragusea's video on New York-style pizza at home, v2.0, and thought to myself I can do that. While the dough was rising I took it upon myself to make a Pizza Peel, made out of scrap wo...
Holiday Birch Log Candle Holder

While I was making this Rustic Candle Holder Centrepiece ( czcams.com/video/9Jhi2um7VMU/video.html ) I stumbled across this Birch log. This project was super quick and simple. I started off by finding a log that was about 6 inches in diameter, something that I could easily and safely cut on my Miter saw. Once I had marked approximately where I wanted to make my cuts it was time to chop the ends...

How to make a small planter box

For Mother's day, I wanted to make my wife a little planter box for in the kitchen. Something to hold a couple of small succulents. Beautiful
Looks good, but no real joinery here. Dovetail, fingerjoint, or even some contrasting splines would elevate the design and add durability. Still very pretty though.
How GOOD are those yellow 0.9mm pentel pacers?
Buenos trabajos
What are the materials. Do you have a book of instructions?
Thank you mate ive lisened to this vidio ten timez and its so relaxin ❤
Even my second one was too loose... I'll try again!
Thanks for the video, I made one but it was too loose to stick together. I'll try again cutting the notches a bit smaller...
😊
Beauty chess board
very nice job
Lovely neat work Adam; you make that double needle stitching look so easy! Thanks mate - I think you've inspired me to give leather work a little try later this year. Thanks again mate.
The stitching wasn't as complicated as I had thought it would be. Well, it hasn't come apart yet!
Can’t find the right size wood wick online so making my own and I’m looking to buy bandsaw what company is yours bandsaw ?
Самый интересный момент на 36:59, ржака
Good Job! i love your work in the leather. ps: im here because r/mechanicalpencils haha
Hey, thanks!
Hi, very interesting video! And very nice machine you’ve made :) may I know how you make the wooden plate moving front and back precisely?
hermosa
beautiful
Love this design, cannot think anything more minimalistic, elegant and functional!
Thanks so much!
Brilliant ❤
Nice job building your clock. I’ve done something in walnut accented with maple or birch dowels. Really looks great the pop against dark wood.
I wanted to use brass but I couldn't think of a way to make a nice cut. Maybe I could use my wood lathe and hacksaw blade. But I like the maple walnut idea, even inverting it with a maple clocks and walnut dowels.
Excellent ❤❤❤ look very much like Hamilton watch.
Really? I still haven't seen Hamilton.
Excellent work. Thank you for sharing your talents 👏👏🌈🇭🇲😀♟👏👏👏
Clear packing tape, works pretty well
It probably would, I actually sent Rockler a Tweet because after this I modified the bit. I enlarged the the hole every so slightly and used a better quality bit. After this board I had made 2 more without issue, no clogging and very little tear-out.
I want it. But not i have such machine
What is tge grip eqiupment you use them
I used a bunch of F clamps
Parabéns excelente trabalho! Very Good!
Would taping the board before drilling reduce tear out?

What Pacific tool are you using to smooth the wood I'm not totally sure
He was using a block plane. It's a small low angle hand plane. A sheet of sandpaper on a flat surface can achieve the same thing
Yup, I was using a block plane. If you keep your eyes open you can find them used for a decent price. But sandpaper will also do the job if you can cut the wood thin enough, but this step isn't necessary.
That herringbone wood pattern is all over the place in furniture shops in my area at the moment, how do you make that on your own? A pencilcase in that would look so nice!
That's a good idea! It's winter here at the moment but I'd love to make another box with some nice pattern work and more advanced joinery.
I made a couple of stars, guided by your video. Thanks! But my stars are a bit "loose" fitting. What can I do to tighten them up a bit without making it too difficult to put together?
You might need to adjust the angle cuts a little bit. I made a few using some scrap pine before I went for it with walnut. And the stars I made years ago do expand and contract with the humidity so during the winter mine are a lot looser than in the summer.
The watch is running very slowly, -588s/day
Very, very nice. Just what I was looking for - a natural candle holder made easy. I am just trying to figure out how to do this without a drill press. Any thoughts?
You can use a cordless drill but the forstner bits grab when they are this big so make sure your holding the wood safe.
Finally, the perfect pitch. Not too sonorous, not aggressive, but with presence. Constant ticking unsettles me, so the right type of 'tick' is very important. I listen to them for focus. Thank you.
Glad you can enjoy it!
Really impressive technique. Who needs Woodpeckers measuring kit. Subscribed pronto.
haha, I do have some Veritas Set-Up Blocks but they were around $100 for 2 sets. these 1x2x3 blocks are amazing and maybe $25 for 2. At least they were when I bought them years ago.
Wondering what you used as a finish?
I use Tung oil, for basically everything. I think it looks nice and is super easy to apply.
What wood did you use? Does any type of wood work?
In the end it was Maple, I started off with Spruce but I learned that different waxes melt at different temperatures and different woods will wick the wax differently. The end result was natural bees wax and maple. Hope that helps!
@@heyimamaker Thx!
This is only the second person out of about 10 that I've seen rapping all that cord around the thing. Most people just make the regular board and use the cord to swing it with
I like to keep it tidy by wrapping it around the bullroarer. When I use it, the cord unwraps nicely.
For future reference, if you make pencil lines across the joints during your dry fit (4:52), it will make lining the pieces up easier during the glue up which will help result in fewer corner alignment issues in the finished board.
If you ever get confident enough to try to make the pieces on the lathe, I would recommend the Yves Tanguy style as it's pretty minimalistic. I learned about the style from WoodYouMakeIt here on CZcams and have been able to make a few sets in that style with my limited lathe skills.
I might be able to make some, but they would not be very consistent 😂 I'll checkout that channel!
@@heyimamakerGoing for consistency is definitely a struggle especially when you have a tool that can tell you exactly how much you messed up haha. Pretty just have to accept a certain amount of error though.
That sound is awesome
Better hope you don't catch one of your hands with that blade man..
A healthy respect for the table saw is good, I use push sticks, blocks, or sleds with it's not safe. Otherwise there are situations where those devices can be a bigger liability.
What wood do you find works best?
It really depends on the wax you use, Soy, Paraffin, and Bees Wax all melt and flow at different temperatures. I found that Maple worked best with this Beeswax.
My main product is custom woodwick candles and I've always wanted to make my own Woodwicks to use in them but never knew the process so thank you for sharing. Definitely now a goal of mine.
Awesome, thanks for watching!
Alternate title: Fetishizing 123 blocks
Love 123 blocks 🤣
50 cubes or wah?
Nicee ! I would love to see also some box for the pieces.. ❤
Sounds like a good spring project!
so this is where it came from... I'm so happy i found the sound for it I'm on the floor laughing, awesome work Adam you are a great human being for making wooden contraptions and/or basic items!
Thanks so much! Where did you hear the sound before? I feel like I recently herd it on TikTok or a song in the last few years.
Muy bonito trabajo excelente y muy original. 🎉🎉🎉
Very nice result! Watching you grapple with the clamp placement reminded me of some projects I've done where it seemed like Geometry itself was against me lol. I think I'll do one of these for my son, thanks for the idea!
