I have the DSi Animal Crossing calculator app and clock app. I actually used the clock app as my alarm clock for ages. I'm trying to remember if it was in fact the DSi, but I believe it was.

Speaking of lost media in New Leaf, there was also the My Melody items back in 2012 that you could only get via Spotpass. Too bad I was 5 years old then... :p

My parents' WiFi is still named "Best Buy" because my girlfriend at the time wanted to get the New Leaf stuff, but we didn't want to drive out to Best Buy. If I recall right, it only checked that you were connected to a "Best Buy" WiFi, but that sounds so ridiculous now that I've typed it out. I am pretty sure that is all it took though.

Speaking as an animal crossing fan for two decades, I didn't even know about the special Nintendo letter existence in the first title, since I had to rent it to play. I wonder who got it without probably ever knowing how rare it would become. Super interesting content anyway, I'm going to check out more of your videos

I think the original museum upgrade in new horizons (the brown one before you gain access to the version with the art collection) was made inaccessible in the 2.0 update. Now it just auto upgrades to the second version of the museum, tho if you started on a previous game version you can still keep the old museum as long as you never upgrade to the art gallery

Don’t forget about those 2 cats that would be in ur town and u would have to reunite them in ur friends town to get a item from them

For Wild World and City Folk's wifi restrictions, there are very easy ways to get online play working for both of these games, specifically the Wiimmfi service. This service allows you to get some of the items that were distributed via wifi too! While not "official", it's as close to the original experience of playing the games online as you're going to get. And for New Leaf, while we'll have to wait a bit for wifi revival services like the DS and Wii have, Pretendo is doing a pretty good job of getting games up and running on the 3ds and Wii U, however I dont think they've started on Animal Crossing just yet.

One thing I miss is the sick villages in New Leaf. For some reason the welcome amiibo update made villagers never get sick.

Remember folks. It may seem like cheating, but there's nothing wrong with using unofficial methods to reinstate online functionality to your older systems. There are many games where online exclusive items are able to be distributed again in all number of ways.

Something isn't "lost" if you can get it. Legitimate, illegitimate, it doesn't matter. If you can hack your game to get it then it isn't lost, it's just kind of annoying.

Advice- reduce the frequency of "actually" because it makes the video hard to watch once you start hearing it. Dont believe me? Its like the game. Now that you've lost you continue to hear it and cringe in anticipation as you go from listening to the content to listening for the inevitable "actually drop".

Far left, middle row is Shar from the original Mobile Suit Gundam series. Just to the right, past the EVA one, I think might be the Grandaddy Gundam and Zaku, obv also from Gundam. The purple one right by them looks a LOT like EVA-01. According to another comment, top right is Nausicää. Just to the left of Nausicää -might be Power Rangers?- *EDIT: It's Ultraman.* And bottom row, seventh column _might_ be Shinji's EVA suit, but I'm flimsy on that (and having so many Evangelion references already might just have me jumping at -angels- ghosts).
