One common obstacle to improving memory is not allowing enough time for review. Many people mistakenly believe that simply studying information once is enough to commit it to memory. However, research has consistently shown that spaced repetition and regular review are crucial for long-term retention.
When individuals don't allocate sufficient time for review, they miss out on the opportunity to reinforce their memory traces. Without regular revisiting of the material, memories can fade over time, leading to forgetfulness and the need to relearn information repeatedly.
To overcome this obstacle, it's essential to incorporate review sessions into your study routine. Schedule regular intervals to revisit previously learned material, spacing out these sessions over increasing intervals of time. For example, review the material shortly after learning it, then again a day later, followed by another review a week later, and so on.
Utilizing techniques such as flashcards, summarization, and active recall during review sessions can also enhance memory retention. Additionally, leveraging mnemonic devices or creating associations between new information and existing knowledge can make it easier to remember.
By prioritizing regular review and spacing out study sessions effectively, individuals can overcome the obstacle of not allowing enough time for review and improve their memory retention significantly.

Get my memory course here memorycourse.brainathlete.com/memorytips Before the 20th century, the study of memory was more philosophical than psychological, intertwined with broader inquiries into the human mind. However, several thinkers from antiquity to the 19th century made significant contributions to the understanding of memory. Here are three notable figures: 1. Aristotle (384-322 BC) Aris...

Lyme disease symptom...my memory wasn't as sticky. Things weren't sticking and easily distracted.
The podcast I listened to was too long. I think I reached a place under the liver a little bit. Thanks Ron.

I wanna ask you how you can create for example memory palace with 10 000 places? Because for me it is so hard because I even dont know that much places
So you go kill others in their land and if you die you will be remembered so outrageous wirld we live in
Wait, so I have to memorize items in my house, associate them with numbers, then associate completely different things with those items to memorize them and their order? Do the items in the house have multiple items associated with them? I tend to overcomplicate and question many things, if this passes my scrutiny, then it will work!
Go memorize the Quran now , it’s fun
Just wanted to point out, that the men, who ist likely one of the smartest, who has lived in the last century was not Christian. Therefore I wanted to ask, why you put a jewish person in the background instead of someone christian? I am aware of the fact, that I am probably interpreting way to much into the choice of the video background. Still I couldn't help myself noticing...
back again with the videos 💪
PERFECT
Does memory improve after you quit?

Love from India ❤ 😊
Thanks
What is the second tip?
Yeah I was kinda irritated by editor cut it out I almost didn’t post video because of that., but second tip was I always review at starting each studying session before I add new material
@@Brainathlete I think the second tip should be another short.

You're discrediting the ability of the human mind to do things like memorizing the Bible in a short time.
If you have a photographic memory then you can memorize the Bible in less than a year especially if you can read well
Memory palace, not mind palace, yes? Enjoy your day. :)
Thank you for your service Ron! AMAZING recognition of our armed forces!
Amazing memory champion.
It’s hard to say that when other people say that I have bad memory
Hello Ron, what is the best way to learn the states with their capitals? For example a good memory palace Methode or something like that. I couldnt find a topic for that in your videos. Best regards Rian
Wonderful Ron. This belongs to the possibilities when you want to. He is good and He makes this work. Friendly greetings, Daniel and Truus from Holland
How can I use this to memorize my lines for acting? Can someone give me some ideas?
The problem I have with every "memory system" I've seen is that each trick relies on visualization. It's always just imagine this, visualization that. Many people don't have a mind's eye. If you process or recall information in a region of the brain not associated with visual stimulation, visual memorization techniques only add extra information you need to remember, making memorization harder. People like to imagine that everyone's cognitive experience is the same as their own, just on a different level. That's not true. Some people will have wildly different results when attempting the same technique, because their brains are structured differently.
Alright, but consider: I don't have that much money, going without a cart forces me to buy only nessecities for a few days. (I have health issues that make me way more exhausted than regular people. I have to pick very carefully where i invest time and energy in order to have anything leftover to do the bare minimum for my degree and manage the most vital chores like eating more than once a day) It's all about how much time and energy we are able to invest any given day, and what other things we can't do that day because of those choices.
Oh man! i used to memorize case names as a law student scribbling small pictures on the pages. There were some really graphic ones, R vs Cockburn for example 🤣
you look like jacked Tom Hanks 😂
omg! yes, I'm so embarrassed all the time because i can't remember names, but everyone else seems to have perfect memory and they know my name! annoying
🇺🇸
Fantastic testimony to mnemonic power. I think Ron could also bring up parts of the Constitution during a casual conversation or teaching.
Wauw
This should go viral, thank you
❤❤
Amazing!
Nice!
Excellent. (Boy, are we way off from the constitution though)
How long did you take to memorize it? And ofcourse brilliant work right there.
It’s 4,543 words and took about 4 weeks
Wow 😮 this is so unbelievable. Well done Ron ❤️🙏🙏
@@Brainathlete can you tell us how you did it or link to the video where you've already explained?
Hi Ron, I'm a fan of the Mind Palace technique. but am having a lot of challenges in creating the pictures. It took me a lot of time to come out with a picture for instance learning the word 'solitary' I needed a picture of the word and its meaning but I found it very challenging to create pictures for both word and their meanings and even find it difficult to visualise it on my file. Ron, would you please help me out?
Wow. Nice work.
Using the shopping cart example is very clear. Excellent simile. In my training I refer to this concept as "The file versus the pile." Yes, taking the time to put information into a filing cabinet takes a bit of effort, but it's so much better than simply throwing all the folders onto a big pile on the floor.
i’m so addicted to buying books i actually have to pick them up
Me too
Its 113 degree here
Your brain can also destroy your body if your brain tells you to lift 6,000kg and you didnt train lifting weights
Oh
5 out of 5 the second time around 😂 but 3 on the first attempt
Great
I don't remember nobody. No name, no face, just nothing. I think I'm a fish💀
I think it’s lack of focus you’ll be fine :)
Your arguments suck. Of course it is much work to learn memory systems. On long run, they save you time, they are great, but in short time they mean work.
The work compared to the reward is minimal. It’s a huge return on time and your counter argument sucks.
Your face sucks. Leave him alone!
That explains!! ❤
Thank you I’m glad
@@Brainathlete ;)
This helped so much, thanks for explaining! ❤
You’re welcome thank you
Ahh, thank you for the great vids! ❤
Thank you!!

Simple answer is that people don’t listen to each other so they don’t bother taking in the information such as peoples names.
Yes I’ve covered that reason too here. But again you’re more likely to remember a name if it’s a picture Here’s my video on focus czcams.com/users/shortsbcZOgYYAfp0?si=tzBlgw5_8vvK53nm
