Just some clarification regarding Michael's visa: The couple got married in January 2020, and Michael got to the US in December 2023. He came to the US with a spousal visa (not a visitor’s visa). Due to the time when he was approved, his green card should not be conditional (CR1) but rather, he should have the regular 10 year green card through marriage (IR1) that he can renew every 10 years or apply for citizenship after a few years. He does not need VAWA (for DV victims). Michael is good to go (He dey kampe)! He might have even received his green card in the mail as he has been here since December. Angela cannot get Michael deported no matter how hard she tries. He would have to commit an aggravated felony crime or do something that is egregious for that to happen. He wanted his green card by any means necessary and played the long game.
