This wreck was DISTURBINGLY close to becoming NASCAR's equivalent to the 1955 Le Mans Disaster. If any parameters were the slightest bit different, Allison's car would've gone into the stands and ended the lives of dozens of spectators. Fortunately, the gods showed mercy, and NASCAR made damn sure that this wouldn't happen again.

This happens to be what motivated NASCAR to develop and implement the restrictor plates in NASCAR engines starting with the 1988 season. Apparently Bobby Allison exceeded 200 mph when his car took off like an airplane. By 1984, as a result of improvements in terms of aerodynamics and engine performance, NASCAR racing cars were reaching speeds over 200 mph. Talladega is one of the superspeedways on which NASCAR raced on with restrictor plates installed between the intake manifold and the carburetor from 1988 to 2019 to reduce power to the engine, thereby reducing the top speed of the cars.

One of greatest pay backs ever. Logano deserved every bit of it. Logano ended Matts chances of a championship and Matt ended Loganos. Id call that an even swap!
We were there i was 3 years old, my parents went to tracks in the mid Atlantic to take up collections, he went on to drive late models at Beltsville and old Dominion Speedway. he was a real nice guy.

Logano try pushes around 2 veterans for 2 weeks Kenseth and Earnhardt Jr at Kansas and Talledega. These two made their debuts in 1999 and raced for rookie for year in 2000. Racing hard is racing hard but trying to push around two veteran's of the sport is uncalled for. This coming from a Logano fan.

Damn. What sucks is Aric didn't even have to do with the initial crash. Poor guy got caught in the tail end, and, well, 100+ mile per hour car vs. sideways car with your foot on the pedal, he's lucky he didn't lose his leg

if you look at Logano's on board camera at 0:54, and slow it down to half speed or a quarter speed, you can actually see a piece of the brake rotor that came out of Logano's car. That's what started it, he didn't hit Danica on purpose, it's called "MECHANICAL FAILURE" And you can also hear Jeff Gordon and Larry McReynolds say that it was a brake rotor failure, and Joey Logano was also complaining about his brakes as well during the race.

Why the hell do you think it was his fault? Did you even watch the on-board view? Did you see a piece of metal fragment come out from Logano that looked like a brake rotor? I know Logano would never knock anyone out intentionally, it's basically a mechanical parts failure, IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME IN NASCAR. When his rotor gave out, his car violently turned left into Danica. Danica was just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

If you google Danica Patrick Kansas wreck, there are videos from every year she has raced there. Im not joking. Why is she out there? I know this wasnt her fault, but maybe the gods of racing are trying to tell her that this isnt her sport.
