i literally dont comb my hair with combs and such anymore. i finger detangle. Also, i bought the unbrush from tiktok and that brush is so gentle, i don't get a bad shedding.

What's protective styling?

i like washing my hair twice a week

good i dont want to wear protective styles. they braid it too tight and my edges break off and i get bumps on my scalp. im also tender headed, it makes my hair itch!!!.

My problem is mine gets tangled or flat when I lean on things or sleep so I have to comb it and it rips it out sadly. I'm trying to learn to take care of it because I don't have anyone else to do it and I'm 17. I don't know how to braid and my hair is short already, I don't know what to do with it

1. Make a routine for washing hair 2. Leave your hair alone, but take care of it (listen to what it needs) 3. Deep condition your hair (hydrating/protein) 4. Massage your scalp 5. Stay away from heat 6. Find the correct detangling tool 7. Wear a bonnet / Have a silk pillowcase 8. Always have your hair moisturizing 9. Don't detangle your hair when its dry

I love your video. I'm done with these so-called protective styles! It's time-consuming and money-wasting. Afro hair is easy to look after, and I've learnt that now. Our hair loves moisture which consists of spritzing with water every day, leave-in conditioner and every two to three days oil the scalp and hair. Pre-poo with good oils for an hour and wash it out. Style: High puff, and you're good to go, ladies ❤❤❤ I know it takes time for many women to get to this level but trust me, we have to accept our hair for what it is and love and embrace our texture. Once we do this, our hair will definitely grow. All of you are beautiful and wonderful in every single way ❤️❤️❤️

Protective styles aren't what they're faked up to be. Wearing wigs and gluing in fake hair is not protecting the hair or scalp. This video is awesome, and your hair is beautiful...

Protective styles aren't Protective! It's literally causing tension to the hair and therefore causing harm to the hair, even if the braids aren't tight.

omg, yes I hate the itchiness of protective styles. I just had braids and my hair and skin itched so much. I think I'm going to go back to doing scarves/turbans again, it was the easiest and helped my hair grow the fastest.

I always thought protective styles were for me but in reality they break my hair and I end up with no edges but if I wear my hair in wash n gos and braid my own natural hair it grows like crazy 😂 I just figured this out the other day lol

For everyone watching this video.... You always start dying your hair in the back. Because your front is the most fragile and will break off, especially around your hairline. Your hair strand should always be thoroughly saturated for the best results. If you do not thoroughly saturate your hair strands it will take forever to lift. And it should be left on 30 to 45 minutes
