I went there about 10 years ago. The one thing that I found was wearing line less bifocals (~65 years old then) that the stairs are scary when going down them. Up them wasn’t too bad but still scary enough. They’re individually different heights and depths of tread. Going down I spent most of my time on my bum one step at a time! It was very very enjoyable to be there and see it all‼️

A great video! I've sailed on QM2 before and we have reservations to do so again soon. As a friendly update, allow me to add a couple of points if you don't mind. First (at about 8:24), yes, even in the hottest days of the summer, that ocean can be surprisingly cold. Be sure to bring a jacket or very warm sweater so that you can walk a few laps around the promenade deck. After several days at sea, you'll probably want to take a little stroll, but even in August, that can be uncomfortably cold without some warm covering. Second, your balcony is what Cunard calls a "sheltered balcony." It's not fully open to the outside. Rather, it's a hole cut into the hull of the ship. Actually, of all the balcony cabins, I like these the best. For one, they're actually a little cheaper than cabins on the upper decks. But more importantly to me--they're about the most private outdoor experience you can have onboard the QM2. Some of the other balconies are visible from the promenade deck, and others are so high up that you may be subject to the motion of the ship if you encounter rough seas. These lower cabins give you and up close and personal view of the ocean--they're just great! Third, common complaints about the cabins on QM2 are (1) there is no power or USB service on the nightstands. If you want to charge your electronic devices, there are plenty of British and American outlets, but all at the desk and (2) the shower, while large and steamy, has one of those old curtains. There are no glass doors. Neither of these things are a big deal to me, but I've sure heard some nasty comments about those two things! Personally, I have bigger problems to worry about--lol. Fourth, lunch at the Golden Lion (excluding alcohol) as well as the use of the launderettes (including detergents) are included in your fare. If you want, you can do both with no additional fees. Fifth (at 14:00), the Atlantic Room is a hidden gem. It's used when the Entertainments crew offers (free) bridge lessons. Other than that, the room sits idle much of the time. So if you are one of those folks who just wants to unwind and read a book or do needlework or some other quiet entertainment like that, you may find that the seats in the library are all taken, but you'll have plenty of choices here--along with stunning views should you choose to look up from your book! At 15:20, the Boardwalk Restaurant--rumor has it that it's only open when QM2 is *not* performing a Transatlantic crossing. In other words, they use it those few weeks when she's in the Caribbean or some other warmer climate. I don't know if that's really true, but that's the story I've heard about it. I've heard the same about the retractable rooftop over the pool on Deck 12--it's only opened when QM2 is performing a warmer itinerary. Anyway, yours is a great video, and I hope my long post may offer yet more incentive for folks to experience what she has to offer.

Choice of which side of the ship you want a cabin is very important. We were port going west in October and it really was quite warm when the sun was out adn it was lovely on the balcony. But the starboard side was freezing as the wind was from the North West and it was in the shade. Maybe mid summer the shady side would be preferrable. The sheltered balcony Window Seat had seems to be very popular as it offers a lot more protection than standard balconies (and is cheaper and has a direct view down to the sea)

@@andrewhalket4129 We did a round-trip crossing in August. It took 15 nights, and it was glorious! We had the same cabin for the duration, and it happened to be on the starboard side of the ship (odd cabin numbers). Even in early August, the balcony never really got overly warm once we were away from port, regardless of which direction we were sailing. Oh, the sunlight certainly helped, but that mid-Atlantic is powerfully cold. However, I can tell you that when departing from Brooklyn, the starboard balconies have exceptional views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty.

you just get what you give. Very average itinerary that Locals involved in tourism like me tried to skip since 50 years ago. I cant believe people still travelling this way. Free information most of the time gives you very worng descriptions that are just getting popular places to be crowded as hell at the same times with travellers that were reccomended on the worst way. 4 hours on "a seat couch" thats not even human. Machu Picchu full day is the wors decicion ever made since the hippies did it on the sixties Sleep on the way to Train station? c'mon! there are fancy hotels and "seat on a couch" acomodation styles just 15 min to the train station with several historical places and stunning landscapes to stop on a full day tou on the way. -the Fast and furious tourism way is kind leaving negative impact. but c'mon you need to suffer to relize about those mistakes that were solve by sustaible tourism companies more that 50 years ago just in order to save money organizing the tours. wow you spend most time checking your phone doing last minute bookings than meeting local people and his live and bright culture. spending most of the time inside the transportation than breading fresh air.

Jeremy, thank you for this wonderful video! Lots of hard work goes into these videos and it is much appreciated here !!! Great photography, colour and narration! I’ve been on many cruises and different ships over the years. But , Queen Mary 2 and Cunard are my favourites ! She is a incredibly beautiful ocean liner ! Elegant and classy !! The Transatlantic voyage aboard QM2 is the ultimate experience !! I’ve been on five of them. It’s like stepping back in time to the Golden Age of ocean travel! AMAZING!! As you say, it has a very Titanic vibe to it ( hopefully without the icebergs)🥴 Jeremy, if you travel on QM2 solo often , I can highly recommend the single cabins on Deck 3 (Category KC ) ! They have two huge round windows about five feet in diameter. Floor to ceiling.Incredibly beautiful view. They also have beautiful yellow marble bathrooms with glass enclosures ! No icky plastic clinging shower curtains like all the other cabins feature 🙄 Sadly there are only six of these cabins, so they are booked and disappear FAST !! Within a day or two after Cunard posts a new voyage , they are gone !! I just snagged one for the July 2026 Transatlantic voyage! Got the LAST one !! But really try getting one , they are definitely worth the effort !! Thank again, and looking forward to more of your videos in the future!! MikeW.🇺🇸🇬🇧👍 PS••• Jeremy, just ignore the keyboard warriors! Floor-Deck Potato- Potatoes. Tomato-Tomatoes 🙄 Sadly, there are a lot of lonely rude people out there with entirely too much time on their hands 🤷‍♂️🥴😂

Indian ancient Temples are dedicated to 'PachaiAmman' as an incarnation of Parvathi - the wife of Shiva. PACHAI meaning Green and AMMAN meaning Mother Goddess. Legend has it that Goddess Parvati playfully closes Lord Shiva's eyes and the Universe was enveloped in darkness. Parvati realises her grave mistake and comes down to Earth for atonement. She does austerities at many places on Earth and her body color changed to emerald green due to the power emitted during her penance. She finally goes back to her abode with Lord Shiva.
