I love Frankie's comedy. But I think it's fair to point out that he seems to want things both ways. On the one hand he's saying 'They're just jokes", but he's also saying "There's a point to some of his jokes". A comedian like Gary Delaney does some edgy material but it's clear that for him it's all about the pun and wordplay. Frankie does seem to want to put social commentary into the mix for some of his jokes. It isn't surprising then that some people are confused about where the line is. Common sense is enough for most people to make the call on most of his jokes. But not all of them.

I quite literally enjoy this.

I never much liked Frankie Boyle as a comic, but he seemed like a decent guy outside of comedy. And so the self-reflective part of this special is really interesting and gratifying. I find him funnier now too.
