Trek to Cave Thowr - History and Inside View of Ghar-e-Soor
Last year I perfomed Umrah. As I am a hiker and trekker so I trekked towards the legendary Cave Thowr, also known as Ghar-e-Soor, situated near Mecca, Saudi Arabia. This video takes you through a breathtaking adventure, exploring the rugged landscapes and historical significance of this sacred site.
Cave Thowr, or Ghar-e-Soor, is located in the Thowr Mountain range, approximately 7 kilometers south of the holy city of Mecca. It holds a special place in Islamic history as the cave where the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companion Abu Bakr sought refuge during their migration from Mecca to Medina.
The trek to Cave Thowr offers an exhilarating experience for adventure enthusiasts and history buffs alike. The trail is moderately challenging, featuring rocky paths and steep ascents. Along the way, trekkers are rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding desert landscape and the city of Mecca in the distance. The journey culminates at the entrance of the cave, offering a sense of accomplishment and a connection to the historical events that took place here.
Cave Thowr holds immense historical and spiritual significance in Islam. It is where the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Hazrat Abu Bakr (R.A) took refuge for three days to escape persecution from the Quraysh tribe.
