So nice. So civilized. So swet. Sweet and romantic! My Mom was full blooded Czech born in O'Dell no , ode.. o. Odel. Odell Nebrask a. She aa had to learn to speak English when she started country school, taught by her older sister. She hardly spoke it when I lived a home except to my B. Grandma. so I never learned to speak it. But I do love to correct people who mispronounced it. E. even on TV. A priest I knew com melted after we had watched a slide show on a tor. Tour of Czech Republic. That I or they all looked ,ik like me. I have always been proud of my olive skin which tans easily . I've even been told by a black lady that I was darker than she was. My kids think of themselves as Euromus. OOPSPS, Euromutts. But I am one proud Bull Hsa. Headed Bohunk. Jacque from Nebraska
My grandma and grandpa are full blooded Czechs from Schuyler!

Delightful....Czechia centre of Europe, centre of charm and culture...
makes me fall asleep, it looks more like dance music from the 16/17 century when the farmers simply duplicated the French music and dances performed by the gentry. From 1648 on the Czechs were under foreign rule and almost all the landowners and aristocrats were from Western and Southern Europe. Kind of similar to what happened to the Confederation after the Civil War, alot of property got new northern and overseas owners. Watch HRZDA if you are into czech/slovak folk music
The Czech and Moravian nations were always west-oriented, taking their cultural influences from not only the surrounding nations but also from France and Italy in particular and thus were and are much more international than all other slavic nations.
Have you noticed that 1306 to 1307 was ruling Czech kingdom Rudolf von Habsburg? There was also Polish dynasty ruling for some time. In fact Sámo that ruled 624 to 659 was of French origin.
Hrdza is Slovak folk music :)
@@chriskershaw7968 Moravian music is unique, unaffected by foreign surroundings. I am a native Wallachian - I come from Moravian Wallachia :)!
@@kucerovajar LOL Moravian Wallachia is probably THE part of Moravia that has been culturally impacted the MOST by foreign influences, starting with the colonisation of the area in the middle ages by foreign, that is Romanian, settlers from Wallachia... cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vala%C5%A1sko
Lovely to see dancers in simple outfits, looking at least somewhat like country people doing these dances might have looked in times gone by.
Hermosa danza... recuerdo a mi abuelo Esteban Halan de origen checo
what is the title of the song ?
+Kurt Ercilla I do not know the song title but will try to get that information for you
Ok. Thanks :)
This dance is called "Holubička" (Dove) and it ´s wedding dance, it is used to be dance by couple in love.
Thank you for your information. Also, it is a dance from Krkonoše mountain area (North of the Czech Republic). I
@@hanickova Wow, I live in Krkonoše area :D
What is the song name?
Beautiful, nice to see young people care enough of their culture to learn traditional dances and wear folk costumes etc.
OLD BAY Thank you Old Bay, these dancers are from Czech Republic. They were visiting in Dozinky Festival in New Prague, Minnesota in 2012 and were gracious to perform this dance and some others. They do have a dance company and were instumental in providing a dance camp in Czech Republic and teaching a local New Prague couple many authentic dance steps. The local couple, Deb and Arnie Ziskovsy, have a childrens dance group called "Domácí Czech Folk Dancers". You can follow the on Facebook: Domácí Czech Folk Dancers.
hanickova I would love to catch a festival like this. I made one in Baltimore Md., being from Cambridge of the Eastern Shore of the state. Being of Czech heritage from my fathers side( Holmolka Jira )surnames, I have a fascination with Czech culture, as well as history. From Princess Libuse and Premysl, to Wenceslas. Polka to pork sauerkraut and potato dumplings, David Cerny to Alphonse Mucha. I`m still learning all I can. If I can ever afford to, I would love to walk the Charles Bridge on up the hill to the castle, see the astronomical clock, collect some bohemian glass, and breath Czech life as real as it gets....
Masaryka :)
What is the name of the song they are dancing to?
I am sorry I did not remember the title of the song. You could contact www.dvorana.cz and inquire. Thank you.
Holubička = dove

Dožínky is name of the traditional festival after the end of the harvest of cereals.
